Punjab Chief Minister inaugurates different health projects costing Rs. 5.5 billion in Multan

Multan, February 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Multan today and inaugurated different health projects completed with a cost of Rs. 5.5 billion. At the outset, the Chief Minister inaugurated Government Shehbaz Sharif District Headquarters Hospital. He then inaugurated the new block of Children Hospital and Institute of Child Health in which 150 beds have been increased. He also inaugurated state-of-the-art burn unit in Nishtar Hospital and regional blood center along with inaugurating the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases which is the largest of its kind in the whole of southern Punjab.

The Chief Minister inaugurated blood testing laboratory, medicine warehouse and cold chain store as well. After the inauguration of DHQ Hospital, he went to different sections, wards and inquired after the health of the patients. He inspected various medical facilities provided to the patients there. Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that resources amounting to billions of rupees have been provided for quality healthcare facilities and added that Multan’s DHQ Hospital will provide best treatment facilities to the patients. Improvement in healthcare facilities is my mission and I shall not sit idle till the accomplishment of this agenda, he added.

The Chief Minister inspected different sections, wards and operation theatres after the inauguration of Children Hospital Multan. He inquired after the health of different children admitted there. Talking on the occasion, he said that children are flowers of our homes and it is our obligation to take care of their health. With an addition of 150 beds in the Children Hospital, the people of southern Punjab will not have to go to other districts for the treatment of their children as latest healthcare facilities have been provided in Children Hospital of Multan.

He said that standard of healthcare facilities is being further improved in the southern Punjab and no dearth of resources will ever hamper this important agenda. The resources have been utilized for serving the ailing humanity and the same will be done in future as well. The Chief Minister directed to further improve the condition of cleanliness in Children Hospital and made it clear that no compromise will be made on the issue of cleanliness. He said that every patient child should be provided best treatment facilities in the hospital. He inquired the mothers of the patient children about the provision of healthcare facilities and the attendants assured their satisfaction over the quality of treatment provided in this hospital.

On the occasion of inauguration of burn unit, the Chief Minister said that state-of-the-art facilities will be available to the patients as establishment of the burn unit was a long-standing demand of the people of southern Punjab which has been fulfilled by us. Punjab government is establishing state-of-the-art burn units in major cities, he added. The Chief Minister inspected different wards and sections after the inauguration of Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases and said that this institute will provide most modern facilities to the patients. He inaugurated the state-of-the-art lab and expressed the satisfaction over checking standards of medicine samples provided in the lab.

He said that establishment of this lab will play an important role in the eradication of substandard medicines as quality medicines are the right of every citizen and we have to gift this right to them at every cost. After the inauguration of blood center, the Chief Minister inspected its different sections and inaugurated a cold chain store as well. After the inauguration of different health related projects, the Chief Minister while addressing a gathering at Kidney Center Multan, said that he has inaugurated different health projects completing with a cost of Rs. 5.5 billion. He said that he has also inaugurated DHQ Hospital, state-of-the-art Children and Kidney Hospitals and the most modern burn unit. I have inaugurated drug testing lab in Multan and the staff of this lab has been got trained from Turkey, he added.

I have also inaugurated a center and warehouse which has been established under a new system introduced by us one and a half year earlier for the procurement and distribution of medicines and I am much happy over the completion of these health related projects. He said that 40 dialysis machines are available in the kidney center which are all in use. I announce to provide 100 more dialysis machines here. These machines will be immediately purchased and if these are not available in Pakistan, then these will be arranged through air freight so that the ailing humanity could take maximum benefit of this most modern hospital. He said that latest machinery is available in the children hospital along with availability of doctors and medicines.

However, there is a lack of heart surgeons. I would ask the administration to immediately arrange expert doctors for heart surgery of the children. I give the time of two weeks to them and if you fail to arrange heart surgeons, then I shall arrange them in the third week myself. He said that heart surgeons should be made available from where on earth. He said that a most modern Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute has been set up in Lahore and best doctors from across the globe have been arranged. Keeping this model in view, doctors should also be arranged from different countries of the world for hospitals in Multan. These projects which are set up with an amount of billions of rupees should fully benefit the ailing humanity as a revolution has been brought about in the health sector by the Punjab government.

He said that CT scan machines are being installed in every district hospital which will work round the clock. Now the time is over when CT scan was refused on different lame excuses. We have introduced such a system that the company installing the machine will also be responsible for its operation and no one will ever dare say to get it done from the outside. We have buried the archaic system of minting thousands of rupees from the pockets of poor patients as the CT scan machines will provide round- the-clock free facility to the patients. He congratulated the provincial health ministers, secretaries and the administration over the completion of health projects in Multan who have utilized resources in a very transparent manner.

If Almighty Allah has accorded us an opportunity of serving the people again then the projects like CT scan machine, mobile health units and other public-friendly schemes will also be introduced in other federating units including Azad Kashmir. He said that foundation stone of Nishtar Hospital-2 will also be laid in Multan before the elections and if an opportunity is provided to us again then this hospital will be completed within one year and will be developed as one of the best hospitals in the world. He said that there was darkness everywhere due to the lack of electricity some years back and the load-shedding time was expanded to 12 hours a day in cities while its duration was reached to 20 hours a day in villages.

Under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N government has completed energy projects of thousands of megawatts which have helped to remove this darkness. Punjab government is setting up another 1250-MW gas-based project in Haveli Bahadur Shah from its own resources and continued work is being carried out on this project. Meanwhile, savings of billions of rupees have been made in energy projects. Under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the projects of PML-N government are an example of their own with regard to transparency and I invite all to examine these projects again and again and by the grace of Almighty Allah, you will not find any corruption, even of a single penny, in them. On the other hand, we have made a saving of Rs. 100 billion in these projects.

It is the result of completion of energy projects that today Pakistan is illuminating and its trade and agriculture sectors are prospering. Had the energy projects not been completed, then perhaps, Multan, Punjab and Pakistan would have been a hostage to the darkness of load-shedding. Our forefathers gave sacrifices for a Pakistan where there is justice, resources are judicially distributed and everybody has equal opportunities to excel. After a time of 70 years, Pakistan is about to emerge as a welfare State according to the dreams of Quaid and Iqbal. He said that PEEF has arranged free quality education for as much as 2.75 lakh deserving but bright students who will play their role in national development after the completion of their education.

One of the plus points of this program is that children from all the federating units, including Azad Kashmir, have been given an opportunity to take benefit of this facility because Pakistan is the name of its federating units. He regretted over foul language of Zardari Sahib who has looted the money of this poor nation and now, he is claiming that he will bring back the looted money. Zardari Sahib, it is better for you that you should bring back the looted money by yourself; otherwise, we will bring it back. On the other side, there is a Khan Sahib who speaks lies day and night; levels allegations and uses foul language. When dengue attacked Peshawar, then this Khan Sahib escaped to the mountains. Khan Sahib remained engrossed in sit-ins, lockdown, agitational public meetings and rallies for four and a half year.

This Imran Niazi, who is the champion of lies, says that he will not waste resources on projects like metro bus but will rather set up educational institutions and hospitals. He has not established any hospitals or educational institutions in the KPK but only performed digging of Peshawar city for metro bus project after four and a half year. This Khan Sahib said that he will produce electricity for KPK and whole of Pakistan but he has not produced even a single kilowatt electricity till today. Meanwhile, Khan Sahib submitted applications to the courts to halt a welfare project like orange line train. Supreme Court has allowed us to resume work on this welfare project and now work is in progress speedily on this project.

He said that if Almighty Allah and the people accorded us an opportunity again then orange line metro train project will also be completed in Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta. He said that it is sheer bad luck that only digging has been performed for mass transit project in Karachi and this project will be completed by us by the grace of Almighty Allah. I request the people to shun giving votes to the chief of lies Imran Khan and a plunderer like Zardari because they have done nothing for the people and only wasted time of the masses.

He said that Imran Niazi also opposed Sehat Card Project and therefore, did not start it in KPK. If we get an opportunity then all these projects will be spread to all over Pakistan, he added. The people are well aware and they know that which party has served the masses and completed welfare projects. The people should succeed PML-N in 2018 elections and we will bring a revolution of development and prosperity in next five years. Federal Minister Javed Ali Shah, Provincial Ministers, Mayor of Multan, Chairman District Council, MNAs and MPAs and others were present on the occasion.
