A high-level police inquiry was initiated today following the discovery of the body of a final-year student, Nadir Chandio, at the hostel of Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering and Technology.
The deceased’s body was found in his room at the university hostel. According to initial information, the student allegedly took his own life using a rope from a charpoy.
In response to this tragic incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Chandio, immediately arrived at the university to personally oversee the initial stages of the investigation and meticulously inspect the crime scene.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the SSP has formed a special investigation team to ensure a transparent inquiry. The team is headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saddar and includes the Station House Officer (SHO) Taluka Nawabshah, along with other experienced investigators, who have been directed to examine every aspect of the case.
Authorities have begun their work by recording the initial statements of Nadir Chandio’s family and roommates. The aim is to determine the motives behind the alleged suicide and to investigate any potential foul play. A post-mortem has been ordered immediately to scientifically establish the exact cause of death, and the medical report has been urgently requested.
SSP Sameer Noor Chandio expressed his profound grief, describing the death of a young student as “extremely painful.” He assured the bereaved family that the police share in their sorrow and that all requirements of justice will be met. He emphasized the commitment to bring all facts to light to resolve any ambiguity surrounding the death.
According to reports, the police investigation is progressing rapidly, and officials have stated that a complete report will be presented to the public soon.
