Pakistan Peace Council Sindh President, Maulana Abdul Majid Farooqui, Maulana Muhammad Ukasha, Qari Muhammad Ishaq Chishti, social leader Aslam Khan Farooqui and others, in a statement on Tuesday, condemned the Islamabad suicide blast, and while demanding effective action, have termed the recurring terrorist attacks a “government failure”.
In a joint statement, Maulana Abdul Majid Farooqui, Maulana Muhammad Ukasha, Qari Muhammad Ishaq Chishti of Pakistan Peace Council Sindh and Markazi Ulema Council Pakistan, and social leader Aslam Khan Farooqui expressed deep sorrow over the attack outside the district courts of the capital, in which several people were also injured.
The leaders stressed that the continuous incidents of terrorism across the country are a cause for serious reflection. They urged the administration to move beyond “traditional statements” and utilize all its resources to protect the lives and property of citizens.
A clear demand was made for the implementation of decisive measures to completely eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country.
Questioning the effectiveness of the current government’s approach, the statement sorrowfully asked, “For how long will the public continue to carry the bodies of their loved ones and listen to the traditional statements of the rulers?”
