Retired employee arrested in multi-million rupee human smuggling scandal

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken a retired employee into custody today in connection with a major human smuggling scandal, accused of extorting 5.5 million rupees from a citizen with a false promise of sending him to Australia.

Authorities have identified the arrested person as Muhammad Ismail, a former retired employee. The arrest was made by the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle following an investigation into illegal activities in Quetta.

According to the agency, the accused allegedly used social media platforms as his primary tool to trap innocent individuals. Reportedly, he would make attractive offers of facilitating travel abroad to lure his victims.

In the case that led to this arrest, Mr. Ismail is accused of fraudulently obtaining a substantial sum of 5.5 million rupees from a complainant. The money was allegedly paid for arrangements to illegally transport the citizen to Australia, a promise that was never fulfilled.
