Rich tributes paid to Burhan Wani

The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem while addressing a meeting of the party workers held in Jammu to mark the third martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani said that Burhan had become a youth icon for the whole Kashmiri population. He said his sacrifice infused a new spirit and resolve in the youth of Kashmir.

The Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, in a statement issued in Brussels also paid glowing tribute to the great martyr, Burhan Wani. He said Burhan Wani has added a new page to the ongoing freedom movement. He said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not go waste. These sacrifices provided a new life in the struggle and people of Kashmir would never extract from their stance while will continue their movement till its logical end.

About the resolution of Kashmir dispute, he said that unless the people’s aspirations were addressed with sincerity, no other measures would be fruitful for the settlement of the dispute. It is clear by the people of Kashmir that they want their right to self-determination to have freedom from Indian occupation.

Mr Ali Raza Syed also warned that by killing people and committing crimes against the humanity in occupied Kashmir, India cannot stop the peaceful movement of the Kashmiris. The people of Kashmir are struggling for their rights accepted under the UN resolutions and as per a promise committed by the Indian authorities.

He also denounced Indian atrocities against the people of Kashmir including extra-judicial killings and the house arrest and detention of a number of Hurriyat leaders in the held valley. The Kashmir Council EU Chairman also demanded of the world community to play its role for a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
