Islamabad, Pakistan’s security forces intercepted and neutralized a group of seven terrorists during an attempted incursion along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan District. The operation took place in the Spinkai area of Ghulam Khan, where the infiltrators were engaged in a firefight and subsequently eliminated.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the incident occurred on April 16, 2024, when the movement of the terrorists was detected. The ensuing encounter resulted in the elimination of all seven individuals, and the recovery of a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
The event underscores ongoing security challenges along the border, and Pakistan has repeatedly called on the Interim Afghan Government for more stringent border management to prevent such incidents. There is an expectation for the Afghan authorities to take responsibility in curbing the use of their territory by terrorists aiming to carry out attacks against Pakistan.
The Pakistani military remains resolute in its dedication to protect the nation’s borders and to continue its efforts in combating the threat of terrorism within its territories.
