Additional Deputy Commissioner General Dr. Abdul Shakoor reviewed the water shortage in the city during his visit to the water storage tanks of the New Town Housing Scheme. Fluctuations in voltage at pumping stations have affected the water supply.
During the visit, Dr. Shakoor spoke with the GDA”s Project Director of Water. It was revealed that disruptions in power supply at the Sawad Dam pumping station and airport storage sites are causing the water shortage.
Residents of New Town and Old Town have complained about power instability, which has affected their electrical appliances. Dr. Shakoor expressed concern over this and instructed the QESCO authorities to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
The ADC promised that this issue would be raised at the district and provincial levels to provide relief to the citizens.
