KARACHI: Secretary Information Abdul Rasheed Solangi has said that for ensuring access to information, the Sindh Information Commission (SIC) would play a pivotal role and as such establishment of SIC is a revolutionary step.
He said this while talking with the newly appointed Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners during his visit to SIC here today. Director Press Information Muhammad Saleem Khan was also present on the occasion He further said that SIC has been established under Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act which is aimed at simplifying process of obtaining information from various Government departments.
By activating SIC, masses would be facilitated in getting information from government entities, he added. Chief Information Commissioner Nusrat Hussain and Information Commissioners Saima Aha Advocate and Shahid Jatoi thanked the provincial government for reloading trust on them and pledged to discharge their assigned duties with utmost sincerity and hard work as SIC was an institution of public importance.
