A police team from the Nilore station has taken three individuals into custody following the discovery of a substantial cache of illegal armaments and ammunition in their possession. The operation is part of a broader, ongoing city-wide campaign to eradicate unlawful weaponry.
According to a police report today, the successful raid was conducted under the “Weapon-Free City” initiative, which is proceeding at a significant pace following special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
Authorities have confirmed that formal cases have been registered against the apprehended suspects, and a more detailed investigation into the matter has been launched.
In a statement, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the force”s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against the possession of illicit arms. He emphasised that the protection of citizens” lives and property remains the foremost priority for the capital”s police service.
SSP Raza also issued a directive to the public, urging all citizens who possess licensed firearms to register them at their respective police stations without delay.
The Islamabad Police have made a public appeal for full cooperation from residents, encouraging them to report any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to the relevant authorities or via the dedicated “Pucar-15” helpline.
