The Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) has expressed concern over the serious risk of the spread of deadly diseases like HIV due to poor medical practices, while it has been revealed that more than 12,000 illegal clinics and quackery centers have been closed across the province since 2018. This stern warning came during a public awareness program organized by the Sindh Health Care Commission and the local administration on Tuesday.
In a comprehensive briefing, Sindh Health Care Commission’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahsan Qavi Siddiqui detailed the commission’s mandate to improve the quality of healthcare and eradicate quackery. He stated that between 2018 and 2025, the commission sealed a total of 12,048 illegal establishments. Additionally, formal warnings were issued to 8,399 centers as part of the ongoing campaign against unauthorized healthcare providers in both public and private sectors.
