The Sindh Olympic Association has been entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the National Beach Games later this year, the association’s secretary stated during a local tennis competition on Monday.
Ahmed Ali Rajput, Secretary of the Sindh Olympic Association, confirmed this development while attending the TIA Beach Tennis Ranking Tournament as the chief guest. He mentioned that discussions are underway with the Sports Department, Government of Sindh, and the corporate sector to secure sponsorship for the national-level event. Mr. Rajput also revealed that the Sindh Games are scheduled to be held in Sukkur this year as well.
The announcement was made at the conclusion of the day-long beach tennis competition held at Clifton Beach. Organized by the Karachi Tennis Association (KTA), the event saw the participation of 35 women and 22 men.
In the men’s singles final, Mohammad Ayan Issaji of KPT Sports Complex defeated Mola Madad of Aga Khan University Hospital 7-5 in a closely contested match. The women’s singles final was equally thrilling, with Tayyaba Yar Baig of Aga Khan University Hospital beating Afshan Shahid of Iqra University by the same score of 7-5.
On this occasion, Muhammad Khalid Rehmani, Vice President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, revealed plans to expand beach tennis in the province. He announced that a similar competition would be held in April on the banks of the Indus River near the historic Rohri Bridge, while another is planned for Hyderabad/Jamshoro.
The tournament was sponsored by the Talat Idrees Academy, while the KTA served as the co-sponsor and organizer. Syeda Erum Bukhari acted as the Event Director, Talat Idrees as the Event Coordinator, and Muhammad Issaji as the Assistant Referee.
Several prominent figures from the national and provincial sports community attended the event, including officials from volleyball, weightlifting, judo, and walking football, among other sports.
