Sindh Reports 245 New Dengue Infections in a Single Day

Health authorities in Sindh today confirmed 245 new cases of dengue fever in the last 24 hours from over 3,400 tests, with laboratories in Hyderabad detecting a higher number of infections than those in Karachi, according to a daily report from the Director General of Health.

The latest figures reveal that 82 individuals with the viral illness were newly hospitalized across the province. Of these, 42 patients were admitted to government-run medical facilities, while private hospitals reported an additional 39 admissions.

A geographical breakdown of the data shows that the Karachi division accounted for 21 new patients in its public hospitals. Meanwhile, government medical centers in Hyderabad registered 11 new cases of the mosquito-borne disease.

On a positive note, a significant number of patients have recovered. Provincial data indicates that 64 individuals were discharged from government hospitals, and another 46 were released from private healthcare institutions after successful treatment.

The 245 positive results emerged from a total of 3,472 diagnostic tests conducted in various government and private laboratories throughout Sindh. Analysis of the lab results showed 141 positive cases originating from Hyderabad and 104 from Karachi.

The Health Department also confirmed that no fatalities related to dengue fever have been reported in the province during this period.
