Special Tribunal Convenes in Sukkur to Address Municipal Grievances

In a significant move to improve public access to justice, the Appellate Tribunal for Local Councils Sindh is convening a special session in Sukkur to adjudicate on disputes and raise awareness about its role in resolving citizen complaints against civic authorities.

The Chairman and Judge of the tribunal, Sohail Jabbar Malik, is scheduled to preside over the camp court, which will focus on matters concerning local government bodies within the Sukkur Division, according to a statement today.

The session is set to commence at 8:30 A.M. on 30th January, 2026, and will be held within the premises of the District and Sessions Court, Sukkur, as confirmed by a handout from the Information Department.

A key objective of this initiative is to inform the public about the existence of the tribunal as a dedicated forum for redressal. It is empowered to hear grievances relating to a wide range of local councils, including Municipal Corporations, Municipal Committees, Town Committees, District Councils, and Union Councils.
