SSGCL Seeks Gas Price Hike in New Petition to OGRA

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) has filed a petition with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), aiming to increase the average prescribed gas price to Rs. 1801.86 per MMBTU for the financial year 2025-26.

This marks an increase from the previous rate of Rs. 1,762.51 per MMBTU, as outlined in their Revised Estimated Revenue Requirement for FY 2024-25.

SSGCL’s petition also addresses a previous year shortfall up to the fiscal year 2022-23, amounting to Rs. 498,764 million, translating to Rs. 2,335.63 per MMBTU. Additionally, the company has included a claim for the Re-Gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) cost of service at Rs. 57.04 per MMBTU.

An OGRA spokesperson communicated that the authority will thoroughly evaluate the petition and will announce its decision following a detailed review in line with regulatory procedures.
