Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, acknowledged the sacrifices of the city’s martyrs and ensured security measures on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. IGP Rizvi participated in Eid prayers with officers at the Police Lines Headquarters and offered special prayers for national security and the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
After the prayers, IGP Rizvi warmly congratulated the police officers on Eid and visited the memorial of the martyrs. He laid floral wreaths and paid tribute to the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for the peace of the country, considering their invaluable services an asset to Islamabad Police.
A grand feast was organized for the families of the martyrs and police officers, where IGP Rizvi mingled with the participants, reflecting his statement, “Every officer is a part of my family.” His outreach extended to personal visits to the homes of police martyrs, where he distributed gifts and assured families of ongoing support, committed to addressing any concerns.
During his district tour, IGP Rizvi met with officers on duty, distributed Eid gifts, and expressed his deep appreciation for their sacrifice of holidays to ensure a peaceful Eid for citizens.
Under IGP Rizvi’s directives, strict security measures were implemented across Islamabad, activities were monitored by the Safe City Control Room, and senior officers were deployed in the field. This cautious strategy resulted in a peaceful Eid without any untoward incidents.
Over 1,500 police officers were tasked with the security of parks, while more than 300 traffic officers ensured the smooth flow of traffic. Female officers safeguarded families in public places, with access to Daman-e-Koh and Lake View Park restricted to families only. Quick response teams continued patrolling to maintain law and order in the city.
Islamabad Police launched a strict crackdown against one-wheeling and public disorder, utilizing Safe City cameras and drone surveillance to maintain public safety. This effective strategy highlighted Islamabad Police’s dedication and performance in ensuring community safety during Eid.
