Students asked to improve communication skills

Karachi:President, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) Karachi Prof Dr Zubair Shaikh has urged the teachers not to be satisfied with just taking their classes, but to look at the importance of the subject which they are teaching to their students today, and students be given full guidance for the selection of right subject for them.

He said that he understood that now we need to focus on creating a good leadership among them and a good thinking person for the society. These views he expressed while he was addressing to a farewell party hosted in the honor of outgoing Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Shujaat Mubarak which was attended by a large numbers of teachers of the MAJU, held yesterday at University auditorium.

Dr Zubair Shaikh said that it was a matter of great pleasure for them that their university was at a higher edge on the path of development. He told that after the completion of the construction of the new block for Engineering and Computer Science education, they were launching more new degree programs and the number of PhD teachers in the university was increasing day by day.

He said that at present, under graduate and graduate degree programs of BBA, Biosciences, Computing; Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, psychology, Finance and Accounts, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, MCS, MBA-Project Management, Supply Chain, Marketing and HR Managements are in progress besides PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Management Sciences.

He urged the students to focus on Mathematics and English subjects and to improve their communication skill because whatever knowledge we are acquiring here, if we cannot express it in a better way, then all our hard work goes in vain.

Dr Zubair appreciated the service of Dr Shujaat Mubarak rendered at MAJU and hoped that wherever he works, he will be a representative of MAJU as a result of a very long association with this University. He said that the experience he has gained by working with this university will go a long way in benefiting the young students.

Speaking on this occasion, Mubarak said that he had learned a lot by working under the leadership of Prof Dr Zubair Shaikh who always gave respects to his teachers and even in his angriness, there was a love for them.
