Sujag Citizens Alliance’s protest for the construction of Naseerabad Taluka Hospital continues on the 40th day

The Sujag Citizens Alliance continued their protest for the 40th day as part of the “Build Taluka Hospital, End Shortage of Doctors and Medicines” movement.

On Wednesday, a short march was held in Goth Wasu Kalhoro to demand the immediate start of construction work on the Taluka Hospital.

The Sujag Citizens Alliance organized a short march and a subsequent sit-in. Participants, holding banners and placards, demanded the immediate resumption of the hospital project and protested against the severe shortage of doctors and medicines at the local rural health center.

The demonstration was attended by people from various walks of life, including village elders, youths, laborers, and farmers, who collectively raised their voices for their fundamental health rights and the provision of adequate medical facilities.

Addressing the gathering, alliance leaders, including Sufi Ghaffar Channa, Comrade Asif Kathio, and Muhammad Malook Leghari, questioned how long the authorities would continue to test the public’s patience. They emphasized that despite 40 consecutive days of protests in Naseerabad city and its villages, both the Sindh government and the health department have taken no serious action.

The alliance representatives stated that the severe scarcity of doctors and medical supplies at the rural health center has become a “torment” for the community. They also lamented that no action has been taken against those allegedly involved in corruption that has stalled the hospital’s progress for 12 years.

The Sujag Citizens Alliance strongly appealed to the Sindh government, demanding the immediate resumption of the Taluka Hospital’s construction. They also demanded the immediate provision of doctors, medicines, and basic treatment facilities at the rural health center so that the people of Naseerabad can access life-saving healthcare.
