Nine booked for food ordinance violations 

Islamabad, February 08, 2023 (PPI-OT):Acting on the instructions of the Chairman CDA Capt. (Retd.) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, Senior Special Magistrate CDA and MCI Islamabad. A joint operation was conducted for the violation of Food Ordinance 1960 in different areas of the city and 9 accused were sent to Adiala Jail.

CDA Chairman Captain R Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has directed official concerned to ensure hygienic and standard quality of food in restaurants while the staff should also be vaccinated against diseases properly as there could be no compromise on health of people. On this occasion, the Senior Special Magistrate said that the citizens of Islamabad cannot be left at the mercy of mafias to play such a heinous game with human life.

According to the details, on Monday, the court sentenced the accused Muhammad Jahangir, Muhammad Aqib, Zia Waqas, Muhammad Zahid, Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Waheed, Aamir Ali, Kabir Ahmed, Afaq Ahmed to 3 days imprisonment and 2,000 fine under the Pure Food Ordinance 1960 section 23. Sentenced to a fine of Rs. In case of non-payment of the fine, the accused will have to serve one more day of imprisonment. The accused were sentenced for not administering health vaccines to themselves and their staff.

Moreover, the Senior Special Magistrate while giving the verdict said that every citizen should take care of cleanliness. The citizens of Islamabad cannot be left at the mercy of anyone to share deadly diseases with each other. The Senior Special Magistrate of the CDA further said that the court has shown restraint and given a lesser sentence this time. Heavy fines and penalties will be imposed in case of non-implementation of future laws.

Bilal Afzal Follows CM Punjab’s Directive, Visits CBD Punjab Boulevard Site 

Lahore, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Caretaker Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation, Communication and Works Punjab, Mr. Bilal Afzal, visited the site of CBD Punjab Boulevard and Kalma Chowk Underpass remodeling project as a follow-up to his last visit as per the directive of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi. CBD Punjab Boulevard and Kalma Chowk Underpass remodeling is the project of the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District (CBD Punjab).

Provincial Minister was briefed about the development of the project by the technical team of PCBDDA and the official contractor of the project. CEO CBD Punjab, Mr. Imran Amin, COO CBD Punjab, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, Executive Director Commercial CBD Punjab, Mohammed Omer, Executive Director Technical CBD Punjab, Mr. Riaz Hussain, senior officials of CBD Punjab, NLC and NESPAK were present during the briefing session.

During the visit, Bilal Afzal said “My today’s visit is in regard to the directions by Caretaker CM Punjab to visit the CBD Punjab Boulevard and Kalma Chowk Underpass Remodeling site after every three days. I am pleased to see that CBD Punjab has taken the development pace to new heights and the project will be completed as per the prescribed timeline. Our aim is to open all the roads before PSL to accommodate citizens of Lahore and especially cricket fans”.

The construction work is being carried out in three shifts. The slabbing of the underpass is 50% completed and the transfer of WASA pipelines is completed. Soon CBD Punjab will start levelling for asphalt of roads. CBD Punjab is committed to the directive of Caretaker CM Punjab for the timely completion of the project.

Important meeting regarding Environment held at Headquarters

Islamabad, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):An important meeting regarding the environment was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA Capt.(Retd.) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal at Headquarters. Member Environment, DDG Environment and other officers participated. While giving a briefing, Chairman CDA about the details of the Environment Wing. On this occasion, Chairman CDA issued instructions and said that in spring five lakh different types of fruit and flowering trees should be planted at different places across the city which are compatible with the local environment.

Chairman CDA while issuing instructions in the meeting added that civil society and volunteers should be specially included in the planting campaign in the spring of this year to ensure maximum planting. Similarly, monitoring of plantations through geo-tagging should be ensured so that the safety of plantations can also be digitally monitored.

Moreover, the Chairman CDA also gave final approval for the construction of parks in Sector I-11 in the meeting and issued instructions to the HR Department to fill the vacant posts of Forest Guards in Margalla Forest Area immediately. He further said that more plantation should be done in Margalla Forest area.

Chairman CDA further said that healthy activities should be provided for children in all parks of Islamabad and sports academies should be established in all major parks. Similarly, to guide the public in all the parks, wooden and stone (organic) signboards should be displayed at prominent places so that the citizens coming to the parks do not face any kind of difficulties and bird’s home should also be built in F-9 Park. Similarly, keeping in mind the importance of plantation in the future, 4 more new nurseries should also be established at different places in the city.

Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal releases first payment to the deserving families in Karachi, under the “Orphans and Widows Support Programme”

Islamabad, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) releases first payment to the deserving families in Karachi, under the “Orphans and Widows Support Programme (OWSP)”. In a graceful ceremony organized at Karachi, President Women Wing (PPP) and Member Provincial Assembly (Sindh), Faryal Talpur launched the programme by releasing the initial payments, in the presence of Senator Waqar Mehdi and Managing Director PBM, Amir Fida Paracha,

Faryal Talpur, in her address, said the Benazir Income Support Programme truly reflects the sympathetic approach of Benazir Bhutto (Shaheed) towards the down trodden segments of the country. Admiring the OWSP project for educating and empowering poor women and girls of the country, she appreciated the PBM Chief for achieving the set targets in Social Protection Field, in short span of time.

Addressing the ceremony, Senator Waqar Mehdi appreciated the PBM’s pro-poor initiatives and said along with the other measures for Orphan Children, PBM’s ongoing task encompasses the unique idea of accommodating poor widows and their school going daughters.

Highlighting the project, Managing Director PBM, Amir Fida Paracha told that the widows registered under the Benazir Income Support Programme have been connected with OWSP with the condition of having one or more school going orphan girls.

Mr. Paracha said this initiative translates the distinctive and compassionate idea of protecting the orphan girls by providing them education and other basic needs of life. “Ensuring transparency and efficacy in this project, the payments are released through UBL OMNI Digital Banking.”, he added while explaining that monthly stipend of Rs.8000/- is granted to the mother having on school going orphan girl while Rs.12,000/- per month is given to mother of more than one school going orphan girls.

Managing Director PBM, Amir Fida Paracha also reiterated his passion to materialize the vision of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto (Shaheed) for the wellbeing of vulnerable populace of the country.

Kalma Chowk Remodeling Project to be reviewed after every three days

Lahore, January 30, 2023 (PPI-OT):As per the directions of Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Caretaker Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation, Communication and Works Punjab, Mr. Bilal Afzal, visited the site of Kalma Chowk Underpass remodeling which is the project of Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District (CBD Punjab).

Commissioner Lahore Division, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, CEO PCBDDA, Mr. Imran Amin, Assistant Commissioner Model Town, Ibrahim Arbab, Managing Director WASA, CEO LWMC, CE LESCO, Director Engineering SNGPL Lahore, Director PHA, Lahore, Director Rescue 1122, DSP Traffic Police, Gulberg Circle and Directorate Heads of CBD Punjab were present during the visit.

Executive Director Technical PCBDDA, Mr. Riaz Hussain, briefed the Provincial Minister about the development progress of the project. CBD Punjab has completed the 100% pile work and will complete the slabbing of the barrels in the estimated time, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, heavy machinery is mobilized to pace up the development progress.

The Provincial Minister also chaired the meeting to review the progress of the project, which was co-chaired by Commissioner Lahore, while addressing the meeting Bilal Afzal said, “To provide maximum relief to the public is our utmost priority and CM Punjab has a clear vision on this. I have directed all the concerned departments to work together for the timely completion of this project. I can foresee that this project will change the development landscape of Lahore”. He further added that CM Punjab has specially instructed him to oversee this project as per his directions he will review the development of the project after every three days.

Commissioner Lahore Division, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa while sharing his thoughts said, “Chief Minister Punjab is very keen on the timely completion of this project to minimize the hindrance in the daily commute of citizens of Lahore. The development pace is satisfactory, and I have high hopes that as per the guidelines of CM Punjab, this project will be completed in the stipulated time”.

The Government authorities, management of PCBDDA and official contractor of the project as per the directive of the Chief Minister Punjab, have decided to open all the roads by mid of February 2023, and the whole project will be completed by the end of March 2023.

Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah expressed these views on the occasion of the signing ceremony of the medical insurance agreement between KDA and Jubilee Insurance Company.

Secretary Local Government Najam Shah, Director General Karachi Development Authority Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, Municipal Commissioner Karachi Shujaat Hussain, Member Finance KDA Muhammad Kashif Khan, Secretary KDA Khalid Zafar Hashmi, Chief Engineer KDA Nadeem Iqbal, Director Finance Warial Indhar, Director IT Kamal Ahmad Siddiqui, Director Recovery Naveed Anwar Siddiqui, Project Director Lines Area Muhammad Obaid, Superintendent Engineer Tariq Rafi, Director (DP and UD) Rafiq Khoro, CMO KDA Dr. Abrar, Patron General People’s Labour Union Muhammad Ashraf, Jubilee Insurance Head of Corporate Cell Fayazul Hasan, Chief Manager Co-Operate Business and Macro Insurance Farhan Umar, and other officers were also present in the ceremony.

During ceremony, Member Finance Muhammad Kashif Khan and Head of Corporate Cell of Jubilee Insurance Fayyaz Al Hasan signed the medical insurance agreement on behalf of Development Authority Karachi and exchanged documents. A Jubilee Insurance Medical Card was also issued to the officers by Minster for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

Under the agreement, medical facilities will be provided to parents and children of employees and officers, up to 7 lakh rupees in plan A and 4 lakh rupees in plan B will be paid by Jubilee Insurance Company. On that occasion, Director General KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah said that after the agreement, medical cards are being issued to all the employees and officers of Karachi Development Authority by Jubilee Insurance. As may be possible, the existing system of treatment of retired employees will be continued, provision of facilities to the employees of the organization will continue.

CDA decides to switch off 50% lights on city roads 

Islamabad, January 30, 2023 (PPI-OT):Capital Development Authority is also in the lead in making the austerity campaign of the government of Pakistan successful in terms of energy saving. CDA has taken a big decision to switch off 50% of the street lights on the roads and highways. However, all the lights will be switched on in the residential areas so that the citizens do not face any kind of difficulties.

In this context, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) administration has also requested people to avoid unnecessary use of electricity in their homes so that maximum energy can be saved.
