Opposition is unable to digest country’s rapid progress: FM

Islamabad, October 20, 2020 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the opposition is unable to digest the country’s rapid progress under the incumbent PTI government and wants to push the country back to darkness.

Speaking after inauguration of a road scheme in Multan, he said leaders of Opposition parties want to escape accountability but they would not succeed in it.

The Foreign Minister said the incumbent government has brought stability to economy through its policies while the economic indicators are witnessing improvement.

He said exports and remittances of the country are being increased while the current account deficit has been reduced remarkably.

About CPEC, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the second phase of the mega project is heading forward rapidly.

No politician in democratic system allowed to target national institutions: Ijaz

Islamabad, October 20, 2020 (PPI-OT):Interior Minister Brig (R) Ejaz Shah says no political leader in a democratic system could be allowed to target national institutions in the name of freedom of expression.

Talking to a private news channel, he said action should be taken against PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif for his anti-state narrative.

The Interior Minister said the opposition parties coming together is not surprising as eleven years ago Prime Minister Imran Khan had rightly predicted about their such alliance against the PTI.

To a question, he said the enemies of China Pakistan Economic Corridor are involved in creating instability in Balochistan and the next war would be fought against them after erstwhile FATA.

Prime Minister Directs Authorities for Abundant Supply of Wheat, Sugar At Utility Stores Across Country

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the concerned authorities for abundant supply of wheat and sugar at the utility stores across the country. While chairing a review meeting on the availability and prices of basic commodities, especially wheat and sugar in Islamabad on Monday, the Prime Minister said that all administrative measures should be taken to ensure availability of basic necessities and control of prices. He said that strict action should be taken against those who are involved in hoarding.

ECC Forms Committee To Evaluate Wheat Support Price

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Economic Coordination Committee has constituted a committee to thoroughly evaluate the proposal for increase in the Minimum Support Price of Wheat. In a meeting in Islamabad on Monday, with Advisor on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh in the Chair, it was decided that the committee shall also prepare a proposal on subsidy on fertilizers mainly on DAP which may be offered as a part of the package for the farmers to reduce their input cost. It was also decided that the provinces should increase the release of wheat to reduce the price of flour in the market.

Pakistan Playing Reconciliatory Role in Afghan Peace Process with Sincerity: FM

Islamabad, October 19, 2020 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan has been playing its reconciliatory role in Afghan peace process with sincerity. Talking to Hezb-e-Islami Afghanistan leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in Islamabad on Monday, the Foreign Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan categorically stated that the only way for durable peace in Afghanistan is Afghan-owned political dialogue. He said we are happy that Pakistan’s perspective is being appreciated at global level today.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said peace and stability in the region is linked to long-lasting peace in Afghanistan. He said the Afghan leadership has a unique opportunity in the form of intra-Afghan talks to restore peace in Afghanistan. The Minister said Pakistan will continue its efforts for peace in the region, including Afghanistan. Speaking on the occasion, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar said we consider Pakistan as our second home.
