Three criminal gangs busted; Bikes, mobile phones and weapon recovered 

Islamabad, July 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):Islamabad Capital Territory police teams apprehended seven members of three criminal gangs involved in a series of gun point snatchings and motorbike theft incidents, a police public relations officer said. He said that, DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha had categorically ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people.

Following these directives, a Tarnol police team arrested two members of a dacoit gang involved in numerous crime incidents. The accused were identified as Akash alias Kashi and Janras Khan. Police recovered one bike and weapon with ammunition from their possession.

Cases against the accused have been registered at Tarnol police station and further investigation is underway, while in another action Tarnol police team arrested three member of a dacoit gang identified as Shahid Ur Rehman, Naveed Ur Rehman and Abid Ur Rehman and recovered one motorbike and two pistols along with ammunition from their possession and further investigation is underway.

Likewise, a Tarnol police team has busted two members of a dacoit gang. The accused have been identified as Noor Rehman and Rehmat Ullah and recovered two motorbikes and mobile phones from their possession. During the preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed their involvement in numerous bike theft incidents in different areas of the city while further investigation is underway. DIG Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.

08 outlaws held, drugs and weapons seized

Islamabad, June 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):Islamabad police have arrested 08 criminals including drug peddlers and illegal weapon handlers from different areas of the city and recovered 2740 gram heroin, 2240 gram hashish and four 30 bore pistols with ammunition from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to the details, Islamabad police accelerated crackdown against criminal elements in order to reduce crime rate in the federal capital. In this regard special police teams from different police stations are formed to take stern action against those anti-social elements.

Bhara Kahu police team arrested two accused namely Malik Azkar and Gulraiz Ahmed involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons and recovered 2740 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol from their possession.

Similarly, Golra police team arrested two accused during snap checking namely Muhammad Jameel and Muhammad Adnan and recovered 1220 gram hashish and a 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession. Likewise, Noon police team crackdown against criminal elements and arrested two accused namely Abdul Ahad and Izat Khan and recovered 1020 gram hashish and one 30 bore pistol from their possession.

Moreover, Shahzad Town and Bani Gala police teams arrested two accused namely Khurram Shahzed and Shakeel Ahmed involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 223 bore rifle and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession. Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigations are underway.

IGP Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard” he added.

Another promise of Imran Khan fulfilled with launch of same-day delivery service of driving licenses: Shehryar Afridi

Islamabad, January 29, 2019 (PPI-OT): Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi Tuesday said that with the launching of same-day delivery of driving licenses to common citizens, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had fulfilled another promise made by Prime Minister Imran Khan during the electioneering process. The Minister made this statement while addressing the audience at the inauguration of same-day delivery of driving licenses held here at the ITP headquarters. IGP Islamabad Amir Zulfiqar Khan and other senior officials were also present.

The Minister said that during the electioneering process, PTI had raised the slogan of “Do Naheen Aik Pakistan” by doing away the draconian laws and feudal mind-set of the colonial era. He said that in past, general public used to pay hefty amounts but would get driving licenses after several weeks. On the contrary, he said, the influential and rich would get the driving licenses in one day.

“Today, let me say it proudly that from now on, poor and rich would get same treatment at ITP. Now the poor and rich would get driving licenses the same day without paying any extra fee. Pakistan is now moving towards a welfare state as promised by Prime Minister Imran Khan. We will ensure that the elites and common Pakistanis are treated equally and poor get same treatment enjoyed by elites in the past,” he said.

Shehryar Afridi said that he was a representative of common Pakistanis and his aim and objective was to facilitate the common man. He said that the government was striving to serve the common man with justice and basic amenities without paying much. He said that the interior ministry had also launched reforms process in Islamabad Police on the pattern of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Reforms.

He said that strict action would be taken against criminals and law violators and no one would be spared irrespective of status and political affiliations. “Rule of law would be paramount in the Naya Pakistan and action against law violators would be swift and ruthless. We have already shown our vigour during operations against land mafia and drug barons. No one can escape the law anymore,” he said.

He said that action is also being taken against the facilitators and abettors of drug mafia and land grabbers and swift action would be taken irrespective of the fact how much anyone is influential. Talking about the issues faced by Islamabad Police, the minister said that he had observed many issues being faced by Islamabad Police officials. However, he said that performance of Islamabad Police was exemplary despite odds which he said was a welcome sign.

“I know that the Shuhda Package for Islamabad Police needs to be revisited. There is also no proper mechanism for employment for the orphans of martyred police officials. “I myself belong to the family who has sacrificed in war on terrorism. I understand how people suffer when one of leading family member departs. Though the government is facing financial issues, we will make utmost efforts to resolve the issues faced by Islamabad Police,” he said.

Lauding the contributions by IGP Amir Zulfiqar, the minister said that the Capital Police in past months was holding fifth event on public awareness which was commendable. He said that the IGP had fuelled a new vigour and commitment among police to serving the common man.

Asked about the matter of Islamabad Cricket Ground, Interior Minister said that the matter was being investigated and justice would be served. “Whosoever would challenge the writ of the state would be penalized irrespective of status or influence. We will make such elements an example so as no one dare challenge the writ of the government in future,” he concluded.

22 outlaws held narcotic and weapons recovered

Islamabad, December 17, 2018 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Police have arrested 22 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered narcotics and weapons from their possession. Following the directions of SSP (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed, all officials of Islamabad police have accelerated efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.

According to details, Sabzi Mandi police arrested Javaid Butt involved in supplying narcotics in educational institutions and recovered 1340 gram hashish from him. Police also arrested accused Muhammad Waseem and recovered 1410 grams hashish from him. Noon police arrested accused Muhammad Sohaib and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol along with ammunition from him. Industrial-Area police arrested accused Rauf and recovered 15 litres wine from him.

Ramana police arrested five accused Yasir, Umer, Baber, Muhammad Abdullah, and Adil involved in illegally oil selling. Police also arrested accused Muhammad Arshad and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol from him. Golra police arrested 03 accused Muhammad Ilyas, Muhammad Rizwan and Ajab Khan and recovered 250 gram heroin, Rifle 7mm from their possession.

Bani Gala police arrested accused Jaffar Abbas and recovered 45 gram hashish from him. Bhara Khau police arrested accused Waqas Shabbir and recovered 10 litre wine from him. Kohsar police arrested accused Farman and recovered 9mm pistol from him. Aabpara police arrested six accused and recovered 70 litres wine from their possession. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

SSP Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has directed all Station House Officers for effective crackdown against those involvement in drug peddling activities. He asked for renewed efforts to curb such practices and get rid of society from such menace. He said that performance in this regard would be reviewed on continuous basis.

He said that menace of drug peddling would not be allowed in educational institutions or anywhere and strict action to be ensured against those involved in such ugly business or activity. The SSP also categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.

Elimination of qabza mafia top priority: IGP

Islamabad, December 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): As envisioned by the incumbent Government of Pakistan to eradicate land grabbing and illegal occupation from Capital, a grand operation was conducted last night against land grabbers in area of Noon Police Station, a police spokesman said on Monday.

Spokesperson said that this action was taken on a complaint received by the IGP Islamabad from a citizen that Taliban Group of Land Grabbers had kidnapped him and threatened to kill him. On this complaint, IGP Islamabad ordered immediate registration of case and to take action against the culprits.

According to the orders of IGP Islamabad, police registered case under Anti-Terrorism Act and Police teams headed by SP (Industrial Area) Hassam Bin Iqbal conducted grand operation against land grabbers last night in the area of Noon Police Station. During this operation, land grabbers threatened police teams and opened fire, but police teams apprehended 42 accused and also recovered heavy weapons along with ammunition from their possession. Another case under anti-terrorism act has also been registered against them.

Meanwhile, Koral police have registered a case under Anti-Terrorism Act on complaint received by a citizen namely Tauqeer s/o Muhammad Dil Nawaz and arrested three land grabbers identified as Rizwan Butt s/o Abdul Rehman Butt r/o Tarlai, Islamabad, Siddique Butt s/o Haji Muhammad Ramzan and Imran Butt s/of Haji Abdul Rehman. Police has also recovered weapons along with ammunition from their possession.

IGP Islamabad Mr. Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has categorically ordered all police officers to start crackdown against land grabbers in the Capital. He said that our prime responsibility is to protect the lives and property of citizens and all out efforts would be made in this regard.

He said that some police officials having contacts and relationships with those land grabbers have also been suspended and departmental inquiries have been initiated. Today around 40/50 inhabitants of PS Noor area visited Central Police Office Islamabad and expressed deepest gratitude to the IGP Islamabad.

The IGP assured them that he is resolved to eliminate qabza mafia from Islamabad. He further assured them full support and co-operation. Mr. Aamir Zulfiqar Khan said that citizens can contact him through email about any complaint regarding land grabbing, drugs and complaints against police officers/officials at ig.ict.at.your.service@gmail.com on which immediate action would be taken.

Corrupt cops to be shown door, public to be provided maximum relief

Islamabad, December 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has said that complaints of people would be addressed on top priority and those police officials involved in sluggish policing and corrupt practices would be shown door. He stated this while chairing a meeting in Central Police Office which was attended by DIG (Operations) Faisal Ali Raja, SSP (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed, AIG (Operations) Sardar Ghias Gul, all newly posted zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs, a police spokesman said on Monday.

The IGP categorically asked all officers that the corruption in police department would not be tolerated. He directed all officers to do their official duties with full devotion, dedication and to serve the people. Mr. Aamir Zulfiqar Khan told the officers that some complaints were received against police officials who have been suspended and departmental inquiries have been initiated against them. He told all officers that they should remain far away from Land grabbers, drug peddlers and if any of the officers found involved in such activities would be taken to task.

The IGP further emphasized that all officers should keep their doors open for public visiting their offices/police stations and handle them politely. He reiterated that after assuming charge as IGP Islamabad, my top priorities were to change police culture and to provide all medical, residence and other facilities to the police officials. The IGP further directed all officers to tighten the security at all police pickets after last day firing incident on police in Rawalpindi. He also directed to prepare a fool proof security plan for upcoming event of Christmas.

Islamabad, December 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Police have arrested 12 outlaws from areas of the city and recovered heroin, wine and weapons from them, a police spokesman said. Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and SSP (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed, all officials of Islamabad police have accelerated efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.

According to details, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police nabbed Somi Shakeel and recovered 25 litre wine from him. Aabpara police arrested accused Dawood and recovered 15 litre wine from him and police team also arrested accused Sikandar involved in cash snatching. Kohsar police team arrested two accused Junaid Massaih and Chand Massaih and recovered 450 wine bottles and brewing item from their possession.

Bhara Kahu police arrested accused Muhammad Imran involved in theft. Ramana police arrested accused Zia-ur-Rehman and recovered 110 gram heroin from him. Industrial Area police arrested two accused Nadeem Gull and Zahid Anjum and recovered 4 wine bottles from him. Noon police arrested accused Shahzad and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol from him. Lohi Bher police arrested two accused Zahid Hussain and Ayesha involved in immoral activities. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.

SSP Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities. He said that Islamabad Police would also safeguard its youth from various evils like use of drugs and ensure brighter future of them. He said that it is the collective responsibility of the every person of the society to remain alert against those involve d in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.
