National Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker condemns bomb blasts at Hangu

Islamabad, November 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): Asad Qaiser, Speaker and Qasim Khan Suri, Deputy Speaker National Assembly have strongly condemned the bomb blast at Hangu causing loss of precious lives. In their statements, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker termed it a barbaric and gruesome act of terrorism and expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives.

They said that the elements involved in such activities were the enemies of the humanity and wanted to sabotage peace in the country. They said that such shameful acts cannot deter our firm resolve against terrorism. They called the authorities for bringing the perpetrators of the blast to justice. They sympathized with bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the souls of martyred in eternal peace. They also prayed for early recovery of injured.

Chairman Senate, Federal Ministers, Members of National Assembly and Senate Attend The Quran Khawani Held for The Salvation of Departed Soul of Mother of The Deputy Speaker National Assembly

Islamabad, November 22, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Quran Khawani for the salvation of departed soul of mother of Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri who was died on 11th November, 2018 at Quetta has held in Jamia Masjid of Minister Enclave, Islamabad on Thursday. Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Leader of the House in Senate Shibli Faraz Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Ameen Gandapur, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Members of National Assembly, Senators besides large number of representatives of Media, Senior Officers/ Officials of the National Assembly Secretariat and notables were attended the Quran Khawani. After the Quran Khawani Khateeb, Jamia Masjid Minister Enclave, Islamabad Mufti Ameer Zeb offered Fateh for the departed soul.

While condoling with Deputy Speaker the participants of the Quran Khawani expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of his mother. They prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal and grant courage and fortitude to Deputy Speaker and other members of the family to bear irreparable loss with equanimity.

Nation is proud of its brave sons like Rashid Minhas Shaheed and M. M. Alam: NA Speaker

Islamabad, November 20, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that the Pakistan Air Force is one the best Air Force of the World and it had always played commendable role in in defence of air peripheries of the country and nation has proud of his brave sons like Rashid Minhas Shaheed and M. M. Alam. He expressed these views while talking to Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan who called on him at Parliament House on Tuesday. The matters related to role of Air Force in defence of the country and its professional skill and mutual interest were discussed in the meeting.

Talking to Air Chief, the Speaker has said that the officers and personnel of Pakistan Air Force made the defence of the country invincible with their professional capabilities and got acknowledge in the world through their professionalism. He said that in war against terrorism, the nation and Armed Forces jointly defeated the enemies of the countries and Air Force has played vital role in this war.

He said that nation is proud of its brave Armed Forces and expressed the confidence that our Armed Forces are capable to cope with any aggression against the country. He said that our boundaries are in safe hands. Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan is a peaceful country and has no designed of aggression against any one, however, to keep minimum defence deterrence is our basic rights. He said that all the institutions have to work together to overcome the challenges confronting by the country at the present.

The Speaker has commended the social activities of Air Force besides defence capabilities. He expressed the desire to establish Technical University with the support of Air Force at Swabi. He said that youth will achieve education in technical sectors with establishment of Technical University and after getting technical education the youth can play vital role in progress and prosperity of the country.

He said that due to CPEC project, the demand of the technical hands has been increased and we have to establish technical educational institutions to meet this requirement. He further said that Ghazi Brotha Lake is a beautiful tourism resort. He said that with initiation of water sports in this lake it will become more attractive of for the tourist. He asked the Air Chief to play his due role for water sports in Ghazi Brotha Lake.

Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan thanked the Speaker for his complimentary remarks for Pakistan Air Force. He said that Pakistan Air Force has fully capable to response against any violation of air boundaries of the country. He apprised the Speaker that Pakistan Air Force is striving to make innovation in the Air Force thorough latest technology.

He said that our personnel have rendered unforgettable sacrifices. The Air Chief informed the Speaker that Air Force has expertise in technical education and in water sports. He assured the Speaker his all-out support for establishment of Technical University in Swabi and initiation of water sports in Ghazi Brotha Lake.

Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is torch bearer and Blessing for the entire Universe: NA Speaker

Islamabad, November 20, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that the modern world can attain true peace by emulating the principles espoused by Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). He expressed these views in his message on the eve of “Eid Miladun Nabi” being commemorated throughout the Muslim world on Wednesday. He said that the life of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is an excellent demonstration of truthfulness, balance, justice, coexistence and compassion.

While congratulating the entire Muslim Ummah on this auspicious day, the Speaker said that Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a torch bearer and blessing for the entire universe. Underlining the impact of the life of the Holy Prophet, Asad Qaiser highlighted that Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) lifted humanity from the abyss of ignorance, reformed man’s ideals, accorded him an elevated status and injected vitality into the decadent social order.

Asad Qaiser mentioned that it is a matter of pride that we are the adherents of Muhammad’s religion whose own life is embodiment of mercy and lofty moral ideals. He reiterated that the life of the Holy Prophet is a never ending stream of guidance for all humans in all walks of life. “The legacy of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) will live on forever” he said.

The Deputy Speaker, Qasim Khan Suri in his message on this occasion said that Prophet (PBUH) revolutionized the world in a shortest time and changed every aspects of people life through his personal example and deeds. “He articulated a comprehensive code of conduct for interpersonal relations and formulating a healthy society through his personal conduct” Deputy Speaker added.

He said that life of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is perfect example and should be followed by every individual. He stressed that there is a solution to every problem in the teaching of our beloved Prophet (PBUH). He said that we should get rid of all the prejudices based upon caste, creed and colour and brings happiness into the lives of people in light of last message of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Reactivation of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in National Assembly

Islamabad, November 20, 2018 (PPI-OT): After assuming the position of the Speaker National Assembly, Mr. Asad Qaiser has evinced great interest in promoting cooperation and understanding between the National Assembly of Pakistan and its counterparts across the globe. In order to promote friendly relations between Parliamentarians of Pakistan and elected representatives of the fraternity of democratic governments around the globe, the Speaker has reactivated total 91 Parliamentary Friendship Groups (PFGs). These groups have been constituted through a resolution passed by the National Assembly on 24th September, 2018.

Since 2011, the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has properly formalized this parliamentary activity to engage other parliaments and improve bilateral relations. The functions and role of PFGs is valuable instrument for promoting parliamentary diplomacy. The rules of the parliamentary friendship groups have been devised for conducting business of the groups.

The Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan is the ex-officio President of all friendship groups. The Speaker nominates Convener of each group from amongst the members of a group to convene, coordinate and conduct day to day activities of the groups. All the Members of the National Assembly have been informed regarding reactivation of the friendship group in writing soon after passing the resolution in the House regarding groups. So far, we have received consent of 1/3 members till date and response from rest of the members is expected to be received in near future.

In light of the rules of the group as well as in his capacity as ex-officio President of all Friendship Groups, the Speaker has been pleased to nominate the Conveners of total 23 countries. The nomination of the Conveners will resume the formal activities of the friendship groups. The Conveners of the remaining groups will also be appointed once the groups complete required quorum.

NA Speaker Asad Qaiser chairs a high level meeting to discuss the issues related to current water crises in the country

Islamabad, November 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan is an agricultural country whereas production of any agricultural country depends upon ample quantity of water. He further said that to overcome the scarcity of the water, we have to adopt such measures through which we cannot only meet our agricultural needs but can also generate employment opportunities. He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting to discuss the issues related to current water crises in the country, agriculture and farming.

The Speaker said that Pakistan was including in those countries which not only self-sufficient in agriculture commodities but also export them to other countries. He said that agriculture in Pakistan depends upon Canals and rain water; however, due to shortage of water in rivers the cultivated areas were becoming barren. In view of the water crises, we have to adopt such measures to save our farms to become barren, Asad Qaiser said. He stressed the need to build small canals and lay pipelines to irrigate nearby water starve areas.

During the meeting, Director Pehur High Level Extension Canal Project informed that with help of Asian Development Bank, a project of Rs. 10.1 billion was initiated and under this project 91 kilometers land will be irrigated through Canals from Terbela Dam. Besides this 30 kilometers long pressure pipelines will also be laid to irrigate the barren areas. He informed that through alternative system, 228 Cusecs water will be supplied to Swabi and its environs to which 30 thousand 5 hundred acres land will be irrigated.

The Project Director apprised that this project will be completed by December, 2022. He explained the meeting that at present 6 thousand Metric Tons production is being produced by rain water from those areas and after completion of this Project the production will be increased up to one lac 15 thousand metric tons. He further informed that areas including Jhanda Boka, Topi, Maini, Punj Pir, Kala Dara, Mian Dheri, Guju Khan Maira, Ambar, Indus, Nandrak, Shah Mansoor, Ganjwal, Jhendi Dhari will be benefited from this Project.

Asad Qaiser said that with the completion of this Project not only the agriculture production will be increased but also inhabitants of areas will get employment opportunities. He said that the farmers of the areas will not only meet their food needs through production of agricultural commodities they will also enable to play their role in the country’s economic development by selling their products in markets.

Pakistan is proud of its exemplary friendship with Saudi Arabia: National Assembly Speaker

Islamabad, November 16, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Saudi Arabia was selfless friend of Pakistan and stood firmly with Pakistan in every difficult time and provided assistance generously. He said that Pakistan is proud of its exemplary friendship with Saudi Arabia. He expressed these views while talking to Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki who called on him at Parliament House on Friday.

The Speaker said that the long term and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were based on respect and affection of the people of both the countries for each other. He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia shared common faith, culture, history and heritage. He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have commonality of views on regional and global issues and both the friends have always supported each other at regional and international forums. He said that Parliament of Pakistan has also remained in the forefront to cement the brotherly relations.

Asad Qaiser urged the need to further strengthen the existing relations based on brotherhood and fraternity. He said that the honour and warm welcome extended by the Saudi Arabia Government and people to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan during his recent visit to Saudi Arabia will prove milestone to further strengthen the bilateral relations. He appreciated the relief package given by Saudi Government to overcome the financial crises in Pakistan. He said that a large number of Pakistani expatriates serving in various fields in Saudi Arabia and earning valuable foreign exchange for their homeland.

The Speaker stressed the need for concession in punishment to Pakistani people who have been convicted in minor offences in Saudi Arabia. He welcomed Saudi’s participation in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He opined that bilateral relations will be further strengthened by investment of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan. He said that ties between the two Parliaments will be cemented by reactivation of friendship groups in National Assembly of Pakistan. He said that unity among the Muslim countries was imperative to overcome the challenges confronted by Ummah. The Speaker also invited the Speaker of Saudi Majlis-e-Shoora to visit Pakistan.

The Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki termed the relations between the two countries historic and unique. He said that Pakistan is the closest friend and ally of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He said that Shah Salman and Crown Prince have a great respect and affection for Pakistan. He assured his government is all out support to Pakistan in diverse fields. He was confident that fraternal relations between both the countries would further strengthen by frequent interactions between the Parliamentarians of both the countries.

He said that Saudi Arabia would always stand by its Pakistani brethren whenever needed. He expressed his optimism that the recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan would further strengthen the relations between the two brotherly countries. He assured the Speaker that he will talk to high-up of the Saudi Arabia Government for concession to Pakistani people who were convicted in minor offences in Saudi Arabia. He also extended invitation to Speaker National Assembly on the behalf of Speaker Saudi Majlis-e-Shoora to visit Saudia Arabia.
