Air Chief meets Kenyan Military Commander

Islamabad, October 26, 2019 (PPI-OT):Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force called on Major General Francis Ogolla, Commander of Kenya Air Force during his visit to MoI Air Base (Nairobi), Kenya. Various matters of mutual cooperation and professional interest came under discussion during the meeting. Commander of Kenya Air Force appreciated high standards of professionalism being set by Pakistan Air Force over the years.

The Air Chief offered support to the Kenya Air Force in the fields of military training and aviation. Both the dignitaries reiterated to further enhance the existing cordial relations between both the air forces. Earlier on his arrival, the Air Chief was presented Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out contingent of Kenyan Air Force. He also witnessed the static display of various aircraft held at the inventory of the Kenyan Air Force.

Earlier in the day, the Air Chief also met the high ranking Kenyan Civil officials and Military Command including, Ms Raychelle Omamo (Defence Cabinet Secretary), General Samson Mwathethe (Chief of Kenyan Defence Forces) and Lieutenant General Walter Raria (Commander Kenyan Army). Various matters of bilateral cooperation and professional interest were discussed during the meetings.

Pakistan Air Force Hospital arranges breast cancer awareness walk

Islamabad, October 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): Aimed at educating the womenfolk regarding breast cancer, PAF Hospital arranged an awareness walk here at PAF Complex, Islamabad on Wednesday. First lady Begum Samina Alvi, also participated in this walk. On her arrival, Begum Tazeen Mujahid, President Pakistan Air Force Women Association received the chief guest.

Speaking at the occasion, Begum Samina Alvi said the lack of awareness about breast cancer in the country is a serious issue, causing loss of precious lives in womenfolk. She added that we should not consider it a taboo to discuss this disease and arranging such events significantly help in creating much needed awareness to fight this major cause of fatalities among the women population.

Highlighting the role of media in this campaign, the First Lady further said that television, radio and social media should play a vital role in spreading basic information to women through public service messages and special programmes.

She added that only through effective use of media, misconceptions in general public regarding this curable disease can be rectified and wiped out. She also commended PAF Hospital, Islamabad administration for successful conduct of this event and acknowledged its vibrant role in giving awareness regarding this disease and its preventive measures.

Earlier, in her welcome address, Begum Tazeen Mujahid highlighted the objectives of this significant activity. Dr Shamsa Rizwan delivered a lecture in which she emphasized that timely diagnosis could help in eradicating this curable disease.

Later on, a breast cancer surviving patient also shared her experience with the participants. The purpose of the walk was to highlight the importance of regular screening of breast cancer, early diagnosis and timely treatment. A large number of young girls, women, doctors, nurses, hospital staff, teachers and students joined the walk. The enthusiastic individuals marched carrying placards and posters encouraging breast cancer patients to fight against this disease with full determination.

Indigenously Overhauled JF-17 Aircraft Rolls-Out from Aircraft Rebuild Factory Kamra

Karachi, September 26, 2019 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, (PAC) Kamra achieved another historic milestone of JF-17 aircraft overhaul facility. To mark this momentous occasion, a roll-out ceremony was held at Aircraft Rebuild Factory Kamra, today. Out of the first four JF 17aircraft, two were overhauled in China; whereas, the other two were indigenously overhauled in ARF Kamra. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest of the roll-out ceremony.

Addressing at the occasion, the Air Chief said, “We are living in technology-intensive world, where self-reliance and indigenization are key to effectively addressing modern challenges. PAF has been relentlessly pursuing these goals and has achieved remarkable capability”. He further said that JF-17 overhaul is indeed a significant achievement, which could not have been achieved without the dedication and hard work put in by the officers and technicians of Aircraft Rebuild Factory. He also appreciated the continuous support of Chinese Aviation Industries including the top management of AVIC, CATIC, CAIC and CADI in our journey towards self-reliance.

Air Marshal Ahmer Shehzad, Chairman PAC, Mr Yang Ying, President of China National Aero-technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC), Mr Wang Wel, Vice President Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), Mr Zhan Jianping, President China Aviation Industry Corporation (CAIC) along with other senior civil and defence officials were also present at the occasion.

The sacrifices of our forefathers demand unity and patriotism amongst us: Air Chief

Islamabad, September 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): “The sacrifices of our forefathers and the blood of our martyrs for the defence of our motherland demand that we should have unity amongst us to promote the feelings of patriotism”, said Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force during a Martyrs’ Day ceremony held at Air Headquarters Islamabad.

He further said that PAF’s glaring victory against the enemy during Operation Swift Retort has shown to the world that we are ever ready to protect the blue skies of our country. Talking about the Kashmir issue, he said that we stand shoulder to shoulder with our Kashmiri brothers in their struggle for the right of self-determination. He further said that we should play our part in the economic, social and educational progress of our country leaving behind all kinds of ethnic, religious and regional prejudices.

Later on, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, laid floral wreath and offered “Fateha” at the Martyrs’ Monument. Principal Staff Officers and a large number of Airmen attended the ceremony. PAF observed 7 September as Martyrs’ Day at all PAF Bases throughout the country. The day started with special Du’aa and Quran Khawani for the Shuhada of 1965 and 1971 wars and those who laid down their lives in action since creation of Pakistan.

A wreath laying ceremony was also held at the grave of country’s youngest Nishan-e-Haider Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed at Karachi. A PAF Contingent led by Air Vice Marshal Ghulam Abbas Ghumman, Air Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command, offered ‘Fateha’ and laid floral wreath at the grave of Rashid Minhas Shaheed on behalf of Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The contingent paid homage to the young pilot who sacrificed his life in the defence of motherland, showing exceptional courage and determination.

Pakistan Air Force celebrates Defence Day with traditional fervour at Karachi

Karachi, September 06, 2019 (PPI-OT): PAF celebrated Defence Day of Pakistan with traditional fervour at Karachi. To mark the auspicious day, a guard mounting ceremony was held at the Mazar-e-Quaid, where smartly turned out contingent of Cadets from PAF Academy Asghar Khan took over the guard duties. Air Vice Marshal Hamid Rasheed Randhawa, Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Asghar Khan laid floral wreath at the Mazar-e-Quaid and offered “Fateha”.

Another important event of the day was aerial and static display of PAF aircraft at PAF Base Masroor. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was the Chief Guest of the ceremony while Air Vice Marshal Abbas Ghuman, Air Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command was also present at the occasion. The Chief Guest inaugurated the event and witnessed the Aircraft and various stalls. The spectators thoroughly enjoyed the flying display by PAF aircraft including F-16, JF-17, Mirage, F7 PG and AW-139 helicopter.

Earlier in the day, special prayers were offered for the martyred souls at all PAF bases and installations. Later in the day Federal Interior Minister Brigadier (R) Ijaz Shah also visited the house of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed and met the mother of the youngest Nishan-e-Haider of Pakistan Air Force. He paid rich tributes to the shaheed, who sacrificed his life for the sacred motherland.

Commander Qatar Emiri Air Force visits Air Headquarters

Karachi, September 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): Staff Major General (Pilot) Salem Hamad Eqail Al-Nabet, Commander Qatar Emiri Air Force, along with his delegation visited Air Headquarters, Islamabad today. Upon arrival, the distinguished guest was received by Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. A smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force presented Guard of Honour. The visiting dignitary also paid homage to PAF martyrs by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-i-Shuhada (martyrs’ monument).

Later, the General had a detailed meeting with Chief of the Air Staff. Both the Commanders discussed various matters pertaining to regional security and mutual cooperation. Commander Qatar Emiri Air Force lauded the professionalism of PAF personnel and the exceptional progress made by PAF over the years, especially through indigenization. The Air Chief highlighted the brotherly relations and collaboration between the two sides. Both the dignitaries agreed to further augment the already existing cordial relations between the two air forces.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, addresses the participants of Air War Course

Karachi, August 26, 2019 (PPI-OT): General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, addressed the participants of Air War Course at Air War College, Karachi. Chairman’s talk was mainly focused on ‘Pakistan: Significance and Responsibility’; where he dilated upon global and regional environment shaped by a dynamic mix of emerging challenges and opportunities for Pakistan.

CJCSC highlighted that challenges demand collective approach to promote security in the region and beyond and partnerships based on cooperation will facilitate peaceful conflict resolution. Chairman JCSC also said that Pakistan’s security situation is a complex function of internal and external factors and that peace in South Asia is contingent upon maintenance of strategic stability in the region.

While speaking about the recent annexation of Jammu and Kashmir, CJCSC said that people of IOJ and K are being subjected to injustice and atrocities for the past seven decades by brutal Indian forces. He said that enduring peace in the region will not be possible without a just resolution of Kashmir issue in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions. The talk was followed by a vibrant and candid question and answer session. Earlier upon arrival, the Chairman JCSC was received by Commandant Air War College, Air Vice Marshal Zulfiquar Ahmed Qureshi.
