Karachi, July 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): “Operation Swift Retort is a testimony to our preparedness and professionalism”, said the Air Chief during the graduation ceremony of No 32 Air War Course at Air War College Karachi. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

Addressing at the occasion, the Air Chief said, “As senior military professionals, you must be aware of the contemporary geopolitical and strategic environments since it would not only have a deep influence on the overall security calculus, but its sound understanding would also facilitate better preparedness and timely response to emerging threats.”

He further said, “An important lesson which we derived from Operation Swift Retort is that despite single service application, support from sister services is essential to the success of the mission. Today’s warfare, both conventional and unconventional, no service can achieve success single-handedly. Therefore, jointness remains central to the modern concept of military operations”. In the end the Air Chief also commended the faculty for their tireless efforts in dispensing the quality training and guidance to future military commanders.

PAF Air War College is a premier institution of Pakistan Air Force, where senior and mid-level officers of Pakistan Armed Forces and friendly countries are prepared for assumption of higher Command and Staff appointments. The officers from tri-services of Pakistan along with the officers from sixteen allied countries including Bangladesh, Bahrain, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Zimbabwe graduated in the ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by various high rank Civil Military Officers and diplomats from various allied countries.

Participants of National Security Workshop from Balochistan visit Air Headquarters

Karachi, July 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): The participants of National Security Workshop Balochistan visited Air Headquarters, Islamabad today. The visiting members from the 4th chapter of this workshop included parliamentarians, tribal elders, religious scholars, political figures, notables, bureaucrats, educationists, lawyers and members of civil society. The visiting guests were given a briefing on “Organization of PAF and nature of its operations.”

Interacting with the participants, the Air Chief said that the prosperity of Pakistan greatly depends upon the development of Balochistan. He further said that PAF, along with other state institutions, was taking all necessary measures to bring the Balochi youth in the mainstream for the progress of the country. This significant activity was held to create an understanding regarding important national security issues and raise awareness among the participants of the workshop about evolving international and regional environment and their impact on security of Pakistan.

Graduation Ceremony held at PAF Finishing School Islamabad

Islamabad, May 04, 2019 (PPI-OT): Graduation Ceremony of the 46th batch of PAF Finishing School was held at the Officers’ Mess, PAF Complex Islamabad. First Lady Ms Samina Alvi, was the chief guest at the occasion. Begum Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, President Pakistan Air Force Women Association and Patron-in-Chief of PAF Finishing School was also present at the occasion. The chief guest awarded certificates to the graduating students.

Ms Samina Alvi congratulated the students on successful completion of their personality development programme at this unique institution of the country. She also praised the standard of training at this premier institution and lauded the efforts of the faculty members in grooming the womenfolk of our society. She added that the personality development programme would bring about all-round refinement in the lives of students and help them play a vital role in the nation building.

Earlier, Director Finishing School Ms. Zeba Shaukat presented a report highlighting the main aspects of the training, which are aimed at transforming young girls into useful members of society. Established in July 1996, PAF Finishing School is the first of its kind in Asia, offering various courses in communication skills, languages, management, art of self-presentation, domestic science, general culture, cuisine, protocol, art, child care, introduction to psychology and spiritual enrichment. The school is an initiative of Pakistan Air Force for the grooming of young girls and the promotion of education in the country.

Pakistan Air Force response on 27 February against enemy’s aggression will be remembered in history as “Operation Swift Retort”: Air Chief

Islamabad, May 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): “PAF response on 27 February 2019 against the enemy aggression will be remembered in history as “Operation Swift Retort”, said Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air force while addressing the 264th Air Staff Presentation meeting held at Air Headquarters Islamabad, today. Addressing the principal staff officers, field commanders, air officers and airmen of PAF, the Air Chief further said, “ We bow our heads in complete humility and thank Almighty Allah for providing us an opportunity to come up to the expectations of our nation in giving a befitting reply to the enemy’s misadventure during the recent Indo-Pak conflict.” He added, “PAF’s swift response was the demonstration of our firm resolve, capacity and capability in thwarting the nefarious designs of the adversary.”

Lauding the selfless commitment of PAF personnel, the Air Chief said that every rank and file of PAF deserves special appreciation for proving equal to the task and I salute each one of you for showing strong commitment, perseverance and motivation being deployed at forward operating bases during these testing times. In the end the Air Chief reiterated his resolve that in case of any misadventure by the adversary, PAF response would be even stronger than before.

At the conclusion of the event, the Air Chief awarded trophies to the bases excelling in various domains. Trophies for best performance in Training and Flight Safety were awarded to PAF Base Shahbaz, while the Strongman Trophy was won by PAF Base Mushaf. The Ground Safety trophy was awarded to PAF Base Peshawar. Air Staff Presentation is held quarterly in Pakistan Air Force in order to take stock of the operational preparedness of PAF.

Investiture Ceremony held at Air Headquarters

Karachi, April 25, 2019 (PPI-OT): Non Operational Military awards were conferred upon Officers and Airmen of Pakistan Air Force during an Investiture Ceremony, held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad today. Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force conferred awards on the distinguished personnel for their exceptional services in PAF.

In the ceremony, 41 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), 36 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 05 Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred upon PAF Officers, while 33 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-I were conferred upon PAF JCOs. These awards are conferred on outstanding personnel, in recognition of their selfless devotion to duty and earnest contributions towards the service. Besides high ranking officers, a large number of PAF personnel also attended the ceremony.

Pakistan Air Force Hospital, Islamabad gets a State-of-the-Art Angiography Suite

Karachi, April 24, 2019 (PPI-OT):PAF Hospital Islamabad added yet another capability to its existing departments, when a successful angiography was performed in the newly inaugurated suite. Air Vice Marshal Aamir Masood Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Support) inaugurated the suite.

The angiography was performed by Dr Professor Amjad Iqbal Butt, Head of Cardiology department, PAF Hospital Islamabad. After this achievement, PAF Hospital can now carry out full range of Angiographic and Interventional procedures under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced cardiac surgeons. AVM Aamir lauded the efforts of hospital management and medical staff and advised them to ensure highest quality of medical care to all patients of the hospital.

This 300 bed Hospital is a state of the art facility, providing valuable health services in the fields of Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology, Radiology, Pathology, ENT, EYE, Pediatric, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy, Anaesthesia, Skin, Orthopaedic and Pain Management. The hospital is equipped with most modern facilities including CT Scan, MRI, Digital Radiography, Mammography, Color Doppler, Blood Bank and Laboratory as well as Intensive Care Units.

Winter Sports find new heaven in the Picturesque Neelum Valley

Karachi, April 15, 2019 (PPI-OT): Skiers from all over the country participated in the winter sports competitions during the Snow Sports Festival held at the enchanting Arang Kel in Neelum Valley. Air Commodore Shahid Nadeem, Secretary Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan was the Chief Guest at this occasion. Brigade Commander Kel and President AJK Winter Sports Association were also present at the occasion.

Athletes of under 10, under 14 and under 16 years of age participated in Ski Competitions during the festival. Apart from Ski competitions the budding athletes also participated in snowboarding and ice skating events. A training camp for local youth was also organized by Azad Jammu and Kashmir Winter Sports Associations with the help of Winter Sports Federation of Pakistan (WSFP). WSFP not only provided technical support but also the equipment for these sports.

The Chief Guest, while addressing the ceremony, said that three athletes from Kashmir had participated in Sadia Khan Ski Cup held at Naltar in December, 2018, who performed very well despite having limited facilities available for them at their areas. He further said that WSFP was searching for more ski slopes in the snow covered peaks of Kashmir and KP to widen the spectrum of winter sports in the country. He added that to harness the potential of young players of this area the first youth ski training camp was also held in this valley earlier this month.
