The brave people of Gilgit-Baltistan made eternal sacrifices for freedom from Dogra rule, National Assembly Speaker

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has emphasized the government’s commitment to the development of Gilgit-Baltistan, highlighting better education, health, and employment opportunities as key parliamentary priorities for the region.

The Speaker said these things in a felicitation message issued today to the people of the region on the occasion of their 78th Independence Day, which is celebrated in memory of their freedom from Dogra rule on November 1, 1947.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq paid great tribute to the martyrs and heroes of the freedom movement and described their struggle as a “golden chapter of history”. He praised the “eternal sacrifices” made by the brave people to achieve their freedom before accession to Pakistan.

In his statement, the Speaker commended the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for setting a great example of patriotism and national resolve.

He further acknowledged their key and consistent role in the country’s development, stability, and defense.

Reiterating the parliament’s commitment to the region’s prosperity, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq prayed to Allah Almighty for the continued progress and well-being of both Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan.
