Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi today issued on-the-spot instructions to police officials for the prompt and impartial resolution of public complaints, declaring the redressal of grievances as the department”s foremost priority.
The directives were given during an open court held at the Central Police Office, where the IGP personally listened to the problems of both citizens and police officers as part of an established open-door policy.
While addressing the session, the police chief stated that his doors are always open to the public and encouraged any individual with a police-related issue to attend.
Acting on the complaints presented, the IGP ordered concerned officers to handle the applications strictly on merit within a specified timeframe and to submit a resolution report back to the Central Police Office.
He extended a firm directive to all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs), instructing them to adhere strictly to their designated office hours to meet with residents and settle their issues promptly.
The IGP further remarked that the Islamabad Police is implementing various measures for public facilitation, noting that holding open courts on a daily basis is helping to resolve citizen concerns on a priority basis.
