In a significant high-level engagement focused on pressing regional security matters, the United Kingdom’s Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Thursday.
The two senior military leaders held discussions on subjects of mutual interest, with a specific focus on enhancing bilateral defence collaboration between the two nations. Both commanders reaffirmed their dedication to continuing their partnership to foster peace and stability throughout the region.
According to a formal statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Walker commended the Pakistan Army for its accomplishments and sacrifices in the campaign against terrorism. He also acknowledged its significant contributions toward promoting regional tranquility.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the military’s headquarters, the visiting UK Army Chief paid his respects to Pakistan’s martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army also presented him with a ceremonial guard of honour.
