Heavy rain in Rawalpindi on Thursday caused waterlogging on several roads, prompting the city traffic police to take immediate action to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Traffic officers maintained order despite the inclement weather and assisted commuters in difficult situations.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam directed supervisory personnel to remain in the field to assist their teams. He also ordered the distribution of umbrellas and raincoats to all staff members.
Emphasizing the importance of public assistance, Aslam directed that “additional personnel be deployed at underpasses. Officers should actively assist citizens.”
Aslam urged all officers and staff to continue their hard work in maintaining smooth traffic flow during the rain. He also emphasized the importance of continuous liaison between circle officers and the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to address areas of concern.
The CTO stressed the need for immediate response to calls for assistance from the public during rain. He also issued safety advice, instructing citizens and traffic wardens to stay away from electrical appliances in wet weather.
