Unannounced loadshedding and abundance of mosquitoes in Sakrand, epidemic diseases begin to spread

A public health emergency in Sakrand is worsening due to the spread of epidemic diseases, allegedly caused by widespread filth and government inaction. The local government hospital is unable to cope with the situation, where essential medicines are unavailable and the administration is reportedly turning away patients with notices to seek treatment in Nawabshah. The health department has been described as inactive amidst rising cases of vomiting and diarrhea, affecting children and the elderly in particular.

The poor sanitation situation across the municipality has exacerbated the problem, with areas like Old Man Road resembling garbage dumps. This environment has led to a massive increase in the mosquito population, heightening public fear of a malaria outbreak. The town committee has so far failed to initiate a mosquito-control spray campaign to curb this threat.

Concurrently, citizens are enduring long and unannounced power cuts, which have severely disrupted daily life. The constant loadshedding, especially at night, disturbs peaceful sleep and has reportedly contributed to an increase in mental health issues among the public.

The dual crisis of poor sanitation and unreliable power supply has affected both households and the local business community, leading to widespread public anger and resentment. Citizens have strongly demanded immediate action from the district administration and the town committee, calling for a continuous fumigation campaign and measures to control the unannounced loadshedding.
