KARACHI:Quetta Gladiators’ Azam Khan, the 22-year-old hard-hitting batsman, who has been picked to wear national colors in the T20Is for the tours of England and West Indies, has thanked his skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and former coach and his namesake Azam Khan.

Pakistan will be playing three ODIs and as many T20Is in England from July 8-20, before taking on world champions West Indies in five T20Is that will be followed by two Tests. “I didn’t believe when I was told that I have been picked for the Pakistan team,” said Azam Khan, who is the son of former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan. “I was not expecting that I will be called so soon. I am happy that I am rewarded for my hard work.”
Azam Khan has made a name for himself for his ability to hit the ball hard. He said that there were a lot of people who have helped him in making it to the Pakistan squad. He thanked his former coach and presently Quetta Gladiators’ team manager Azam Khan, who picked him for his club Alamgir Gymkhana. He also thanked Quetta Gladiators’ owner Nadeem Omar, who asked him to play in the Pakistan Super League and express himself.

He thanked his skipper Sarfraz Ahmed in the Gladiators team for supporting him and sending him at a batting where he performs well. “He gave me the golden opportunity to play,” Khan said. “HE put his faith in me and supported me, which helped me greatly.”
