Urea Sales Forecasted to Plummet by 51% in January 2026

Karachi: Urea sales in January 2026 are projected to experience a significant decline, marking a 51% decrease from the previous year. The sales are estimated to total 218,000 tons for the month. Additionally, sales of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) are expected to fall by 43% compared to the same period last year.

According to JS Global, company-specific data indicates that Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) is anticipated to report a 10% year-over-year decrease in Urea sales volumes, amounting to 175,000 tons, which includes 10,000 tons of granular Urea. Engro Fertilizers (EFERT) is likely to experience a 77% drop, with sales projected at 24,000 tons. Meanwhile, Fatima Fertilizer Company (FATIMA) is expected to report a volume of 7,000 tons, reflecting a 93% decline from the previous year. The significant decrease in EFERT's sales is attributed to the company having front-loaded volumes in the preceding month, resulting in sufficient dealer inventory of Engro Urea.

Inventory levels across the industry are projected to decrease to 0.6 million tons by the end of January 2026, down from 0.3 million tons in December 2025. This reduction is attributed to subdued demand during January, with industry-wide production reaching approximately 533,000 tons for the month.
