The US Dollar was valued above the 281 mark against the Pakistani Rupee in the open market on Friday, while the Euro and British Pound Sterling commanded significantly higher rates, according to data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.
The American currency was quoted with a buying price of PKR 281.38 and a selling price of PKR 281.75 in the open market. In the interbank market, the greenback was reported at a buying level of 280.72 and a selling level of 280.92.
The Euro emerged as the most expensive major currency, with its purchasing rate recorded at 326.50 and its sale price at 329.66. Similarly, the Pound Sterling registered a high value, with a buying quotation of 369.03 and a selling quotation of 372.31.
In trading against Asian and Middle Eastern currencies, the Japanese Yen was priced between 1.79 for buying and 1.85 for selling. The UAE Dirham (AED) was available for purchase at 76.61 and for sale at 77.42, while the Saudi Riyal (SR) had a buying rate of 74.94 and a selling rate of 75.59.
