NAUNDERO: The residents of Bhambho village, located in the riverine area, cried against the alleged highhandedness of DSP Naundero Syed Shahjahan Shah who conducted a raid over their village on Sunday along with cops of Garhi Khuda Bux, Naundero and Ketty Mumtaz police stations, tortured womenfolk and children which created panic among the entire villagers who started running for safety. They claimed that during the running as a precautionary measure a 10-year old boy Yasim Shaikh jumped into the Indus River but his whereabouts are still unknown to them.
Villagers including Taimur Shaikh, Bakhtawar Shaikh, Hajran Shaikh and other women held a protest demonstration along with their kids where they alleged that cops tortured them, ransacked their makeshift houses and took away one lac rupees cash, five goats, two tola golden ornaments and quilts with them. They said that a herdsboy Yasin who took buffaloes for grazing at the Indus River jumped into the river due to fear but has not returned home till now adding they are unaware whether he is alive or not, nobody knows.
They further alleged that they had heard that cops are Kamdars of the elite and landlords but this is for the first time that they are also doing Kamdari of a Kamdar named Nadir Mirani which is astonishing for them because the police conducted the raid on his tout. They further claimed that there is no case against them and if their child Yasin did not return then they will register a murder case against the DSP Shahjahan Shah, SHO Ketty Mumtaz and the raiding party.
They urged higher police officers to take notice of the issue, order an inquiry, recover stolen goods and take stern action against the Kamdar who himself is involved in many criminal cases. When the DSP Shahjahan was contacted to have his views he shut up his cell phone after hearing the question as to why he conducted the raid.
