Authorities in Tando Allahyar have issued a stern warning of zero tolerance for any negligence during the upcoming anti-polio campaign in April 2026, and have given clear instructions to all designated officers to remain active in the field to ensure its success.
This directive was given during a key meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Noor Mustafa Leghari, aimed at finalizing arrangements for the immunization campaign.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Leghari described the complete eradication of polio as a national responsibility, stressing that achieving this goal requires a coordinated and effective strategy from all concerned departments.
He directed health department officials to further strengthen micro-planning, improve the training of teams, and reinforce security arrangements and monitoring systems to guarantee that no child under the age of five is missed by the polio vaccine.
The high-level meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner II Madam Warda Nayab, several Assistant Commissioners, District Health Officer Dr. Bhuro Mal, and representatives from the police, education, municipal, and information departments.
During the briefing, officials stated that the formation of immunization teams to meet the campaign’s targets has been completed, and special focus will be placed on high-risk union councils within the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also emphasized the crucial role of religious scholars, teachers, community leaders, and the media in the success of the campaign, calling for a more effective public awareness campaign.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Leghari expressed the resolve that all possible measures would be taken through joint efforts to make the Tando Allahyar district completely polio-free.
