Woman jailed for two years in fake cheque case

LARKANA:A local court on Saturday awarded an imprisonment of two years to a woman with a fine of Rs20,000 in a fake cheque case.

The IInd Judicial and Model Court’s Judge Khaliq Dad Jalbani in view of evidences and statements from both side convicted a woman Azra Perveen Bhutto for giving a fake cheque to applicant Munir Shaikh during 2020. The judge said if convict failed to pay the amount of the fine, then she will further undergo two more months of jail.

The applicant had registered a case against the accused woman at Market police station in which he stated that the accused woman gave him a fake cheque of Rs2 million which was bounced by the bank. Lady police, after announcement of the verdict, arrested the woman and shifted her to jail.
