World Orphan Day, observed on the 15th of Ramadan, called attention today to the urgent needs of orphans worldwide.
Alkhidmat Foundation, a humanitarian organization in Pakistan, is at the forefront of this cause, organizing events and initiatives that highlight the importance of supporting orphaned children.
Islam emphasizes the protection of orphan rights, with the Holy Quran mentioning orphans in 22 verses. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), an orphan himself, underscored the virtues of caring for these vulnerable members of society, describing the best home as one with an orphan.
Alkhidmat Foundation celebrates World Orphan Day with various activities, including special events for orphans featuring meals, entertainment, and gift distribution. The foundation’s Grand Iftar events, planned for March 22 at UMT Lahore and in Birmingham, UK, aim to foster community unity and support those in need.
The foundation also provides critical financial and educational support to orphans, offering scholarships, school supplies, and healthcare. In Gaza, Alkhidmat supports 300 students and has initiated two schools, while academic scholarships sponsor 400 students monthly.
Individuals can contribute by sponsoring an orphan, volunteering, raising awareness, or offering mentorship. Such efforts provide orphans with the resources and support needed to grow with dignity and hope.
Every child deserves a future filled with opportunity, and Alkhidmat Foundation’s ongoing dedication to nurturing 31,985 orphans ensures they receive the care they need.
