Yasin Malik appears before TADA court in old fake case

New Delhi, October 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): Illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, appeared before a TADA court in Jammu via video conferencing in a fake case registered against him about three decades ago.

Muhammad Yasin Malik appeared before the TADA court for the first time in over two decades in the false case relating to the killing of four Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel in an attack on the outskirts of Srinagar on January 25, 1990.

During the first proceedings in the case, there were arguments on the charges and appearance of Yasin Malik before the court, a senior CBI counsel told media. He said that the matter had been now posted for further arguments next month. In the court, Malik was represented by his lawyer, who submitted his arguments.

The CBI, which investigated the case, had charge-sheeted Yasin Malik, Javaid Ahmed Mir and four others before the TADA court in Jammu in the same case. However, Yasin Malik was granted stay on trial by the High Court of the territory in 1999.

Earlier, on October 17, Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmed Mir, was produced before the TADA court in the same fake case after he was arrested by the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation after raiding his house in Srinagar.
