Zardari contracts coronavirus in Dubai

KARACHI: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has contracted coronavirus in Dubai, said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto on Thursday.

In a tweet, Bilawal said that his father, who is fully vaccinated and has also received booster dose, is isolating with symptoms and receiving treatment. We are praying for his swift recovery, Bilawal added.

His daughter, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, said that when he landed in Dubai a four days back, his PCR was positive, but now his symptoms were mild and he is resting. “Thank u 4 your prayers and remind everyone to remain precautions,” she said.

Zardari left Pakistan for Dubai recently to celebrate his 67th birthday (July 26) with his nine-month-old grandson Mir Hakim Mahmood Choudhry. He wanted to celebrate his first birthday as a grandfather with his only grandson.
