Court: (Cement factories to be charged for usage of underground water: CJP)

ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has said that cement factories will have to pay for underground water they are using.

Hearing a case pertaining to cement factories here on Friday, the Chief Justice remarked that underground water is very precious and cement factories are using it but now it will not be available to them for free.

Also taking notice of the use of underground water by mineral water companies, the Chief Justice directed Punjab Food Authority to seek report from all the companies as to how much water they are using and how much they are paying for it.
