Karachi:Fresh milk retailers of the megacity increased the rate of milk by Rs10 per liter.
Citizens showed anger over rise in fresh milk rate and inability of government to control rates of daily use kitchen commodities.
However, later, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani took notice of the issue and directed all deputy and assistant commissioners of the megacity to take strict action against those milk sellers who were charging more than the notified price.
He also directed all the Deputy Commissioners to send him report on daily basis. He asked them to remain in the field to ensure selling of fresh milk on notified price.
