KARACHI: Karachi police on Friday claimed to have arrested 19 criminals, including a gang of six bike lifters, from different parts of the metropolis.

According to police sources, Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) police detained a gang of six vehicle lifters, Jameel, Tahir, Abdul Qadir, Sami, Hussain and Adnan, and recovered five stolen bikes and site glasses of cars from their possession.

During crackdown on drug peddlers police conducted search operations in Sohrab Goth, Shah Latif town, Ayoub Goth and Memon Goth areas, and apprehended seven criminals, Ajmal, Ehsanullah, Muhammad Hanif, Mehboob, Awal Khan, Akram and Muhammad Hussain.

The police claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of hashish, Gutka, wine, two motorbikes, 4000 cash and contrabands from them.

Kalri police arrested six gamblers, Azam, Ali, Saeed, Gulam Yaseen, Gulam Mujtaba, Amir Shehzad, and recovered 2600 cash and seven mobile phones, and playing cards from them.

The police have registered FIRs against detainees and started further investigation.
