KARACHI:A delegation of Motorcycle Dealers Association, led by Senior Vice President Abdullah Shari, Executive Member Tariq Naseee, met Director General Excise and Taxation Sindh Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh at his office today.
Director Administration, Excise and Taxation Sindh, Aamir Jamil, Deputy Director Lala Tariq and other association office-bearers were also present. The delegation apprised DG Excise of their grievances regarding proposed withholding tax on motorcycles from Commissioner FBR Karachi.
DG Excise told the delegation that he had written a letter to Commissioner FBR Karachi on the issue, asking him to clarify the matter, but so far no reply had been received from him. He added, “Unless we receive in black and white from Commissioner FBR Karachi, we are supposed to take withholding tax on motorcycles.”
He advised them to meet Commissioner FBR Karachi on the issue and apprised him about their grievances. DG Taxation assured them Sindh Excise Department was fully ready to cooperate with people and motorcycle dealers association in their interest.
