Qesco disconnects bill defaulters

QUETTA: Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) disconnected dozens of electricity connections on the charges of electricity theft and lodged cases against them. The services of three Line Superintendents were also suspended on account of poor performance.

According to spokesman of QESCO, staff of Kirani Sub Division under the supervision of XEN Shahid Zehri and SDO Hameed Awan while conducting operations in the areas of Western Bypass, Ittehad Colony, Kirani Road and Hazara Town disconnected dozens of illegal electricity connections and cases were registered against persons found involved in stealing electricity.

Operation against electricity theft has been going on for one week and during that time an amount of Rs0.8million has been recovered in the head of electricity theft,” says spokesman of QESCO, adding that the services of three Line Superintendents Syed Sajjad Shah, Muhammad Faisal and Shahbaz have been suspended on the directives of Chief Executive Officer, QESCO and Departmental proceedings against the suspended Line Superintendents initiated.
