SHAHDADKOT:On the call of Shahdadkot Zilo Thahiyo Jidojahad Committee, the residents of Qubo Saeed Khan and nearby areas took out a rally here on Sunday, to press the authorities to make Shahdadkot a district.

The participants were holding banners and placards in their hands, chanting slogans. They were also garlanded by the residents. The rally reached Benazir Chowk after marching through various roads including Babu Road and Shahi Bazaar, where the participants unanimously passed a resolution to make Shahdadkot a district.

PTI leader Gaibi Khan Mugheri while addressing the participants said that the people of Qubo Saeed Khan had voted in favour of Change today which was being seen around the world. He said people of Qubo Saeed Khan, Sijawal Junejo and Miro Khan would continue struggle for making Shahdadkot a district. He said keeping in view, the popular demand of the people, the Sindh government should immediately issue a notification in this regard as delay will create more hatred for them. He said they had abandoned their demands after killing of citizens in Kambar in the past.

GDA leader Muzafar Brohi said that Qubo Saeed Khan had always been neglected in all fields and people had now become tired of visiting doors of influential landlords as the people had no facilities of safe drinking water and healthcare.

National Democratic Party leader Hubdar Mirjat, Ghani Mujahid, Comrade Ghani Pandhrani, JSQM’s Altaf Soomro, Urs Seelro, advocate Ghani Bhatti and others said that MPA Mir Nadir Magsi should raise the voice in Sindh Assembly as previously districts were made on political basis ignoring ground realities and troubles faced by the people.

“Due to trade, population, tax recoveries etc, it is right of Shahdadkot to give it a status of a district. We will continue our struggle till their justified demand is accepted. The elected representatives have no mercy on the masses as they are just busy in personal gains,” they said.

The leaders said even after 15 years, the condition of the people had not improved, hence, their struggle was fully justified which would also improve law and order situation. They said if their demand was not accepted, they would hold protest in Karachi and Islamabad.
