LARKANA:The buffalo owners took out a rally here on Tuesday, demanding allowing their cattle to enter Rice Canal.
The participants marched through various roads and reached Nishtar Road where they held a protest demonstration. They were demanding allowing their cattle to enter Rice Canal for watering and cooling amid scorching heatwave.The participants, Mohammad Bux Joyo, Rasul Bux Kalhoro, Asadullah Mengal, Rajib Sethar, Tufail Arbani, and Zakir Pahore said that previous PPP government and mayor Aslam Shaikh had stopped them from letting the cattle to enter the canal.
They alleged that two costly buffaloes of Nizam Khuhro fell down yesterday due to heat which may not be cured. They said that since last 70 years, their cattle is taking bath in Rice Canal but suddenly stopping them amounts to highhandedness for which they urged the concerned authorities to permit them without further loss of time or provide substitute as their sole earning livelihood is selling milk of buffaloes. They further said that they will not cast vote to any candidate in the upcoming general election until their cattle is allowed to enter the rice canal.
