Karachi: Karachi Gymkhana Veterans won a festival match against Omar Associates Veterans by 42 runs at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground the other day.
Karachi Gymkhana batted first and was bundled out for 184 runs in the final over of stipulated 25 overs Match. Azhar Khan scored 52 runs off 41 balls. Asim Ansari scored 21 runs.
Karachi Gymkhana was cruising comfortably at 141 runs for loss of five wickets at the end of 16 overs. But left arm leg spinner Fawad Ijaz Khan was introduced into the bowling and he took the last five wickets for 29 runs in his four over spell.
Batting second, Omar Associates could only score 142 runs and were all out at the end of 25 overs. Nadeem Omar captain of Omar Associates and President Elect of KCCA top scored with 20 runs off 22 balls with one four. Fayyaz Ahmed also scored 20 runs.
For KG Veterans Nadeem Dalia and Shaharyar took three wickets each for 30 and 31 runs respectively. Fawad Ijaz Khan was declared man of the match while Azher Khan as Best Batsman and Nadeem Dalia as Best Bowler.
