Karachi: All-rounder Abdul Rehman Niazi stole the limelight as Moin Khan Cricket Academy (MKCA) beat UBL by 21 runs in Inter Academies Under-16 Cricket League here at UBL Sports Complex ground the other day.
Niazi made a steady undefeated 45 in 63 balls with three boundaries, snapped-up three wickets for 21 runs in six overs and accounted for a run out to play pivotal role in his team’s victory.
MKCA batted first and put on board 174-8 in allotted 30 overs. Besides Rehman Niazi, Owais Karni hoisted three sixes and two fours in his in 16-ball cameo of 32 runs. Slow left arm spinner Saif Yamin grabbed three wickets for 17 runs in his six overs. Pacer Mohammad Fahad took three wickets for 23 runs.
UBL Academy in reply was bowled out for 159 in 29 overs. Adeel Meo top-scored with 36 off 33 balls. Rehman Niazi claimed three wickets for 21 runs and off-break bowler Onaib Obaid took two wickets for 21 runs.
