Seventeen people from a wedding party were injured after a bus overturned on Mehran Highway on Tuesday, allegedly due to overspeeding, with some of them in critical condition.
According to the police, the vehicle was traveling from Daur to Karachi when the incident occurred at Khadhar.
Officials stated that the initial cause of the accident was overspeeding.
Upon receiving the information, emergency services, including police and rescue personnel, promptly reached the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby medical center for treatment.
Police confirmed that the passengers on the bus were wedding guests from the Shah community of Daur city.
Due to the accident, traffic flow on the main highway was temporarily affected, which was later restored.
The police have initiated a formal investigation into the accident.
