Provinces asked to increase women’s share in raising plant nurseries

Islamabad, August 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): Ministry of Climate Change has asked the provinces to increase the women share in raising plant nurseries under the 10-Billion Tree Tsunami. This was stated by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam while talking to APP in Islamabad. He said the Billion Tree Tsunami project implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a successful experiment to provide women with a dignified livelihood opportunity.

The Special Assistant said the project assisted the women to raise plant nurseries at their household in rural areas. He said the monsoon plantation target of 200 million saplings was the largest ever goal set by the government. He said the 3.5 million saplings plantation a day under Plant for Pakistan Day on August 9 also had the share of women nurseries.

State Bank of Pakistan introducing new mechanism to enhance EODB

Islamabad, August 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): State Bank of Pakistan has decided to introduce a new mechanism to enable the companies in the country to make instant payments for acquiring digital services from the globally recognized digital service provider companies.

In a statement, the State Bank said now the local companies can access various services from these global companies instantly without any regulatory approval process. The SBP said the aim of introducing this new mechanism is to further enhance the ease of doing business in the country.

Pakistan Railways to run five trains from 17th August

Islamabad, August 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Pakistan Railways administration has decided to run five trains from 17th August to facilitate the people. According to a Press Release, Hazara Express, Farid Express, Rehman Baba Express, Badar Express, and Moenjo Daro Passenger Train will resume their operation. The Press Release said that earlier these trains were suspended due to COVID-19.

Imran Khan saved Rs 2,344 bn of poor people in two years: Information Minister

Islamabad, August 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz says Prime Minister Imran Khan has so far saved 2344 billion rupees of the poor people through his strategy and efforts in two years. In a tweet today [Sunday], he said this amount is more than the three year developmental budget of Pakistan. He said the amount includes Reko Diq 1100 billion rupees, Karkay 240 billion rupees, Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) 400 billion rupees and IPP 604 billion rupees.

Coronavirus situation is improving in country

Islamabad, August 16, 2020 (PPI-OT): Covid-19 situation is improving in the country as the total number of recovered persons from the virus has now reached 266,301.According to the latest statistics, there are now 16,248 active cases in the country. 670 people were tested positive and 6 lost their lives due to the virus over the last twenty-four hours whereas 24,022 tests were carried out during this period.

Indian troops continue unprovoked ceasefire violation along LoC
