(Two terrorists killed in Tank IBO: ISPR)

ISLAMABAD:Two terrorists were killed in an intelligence based operations (IBO) in Tank.

According to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, the security forces conducted the IBO on reported presence of terrorists in Tank during which weapons and ammunition were also recovered.

Terrorists identified as Shahzeb alias Zakir and Daniyal were involved in terrorist activities against security forces, target killing and kidnapping for ransom. Meanwhile, in another operation, the security forces conducted IBO in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district on reported presence of terrorists.

One terrorist apprehended along with weapons and ammunition. During intense exchange of fire, four soldiers embraced martyrdom. The martyred soldiers were identified as Havaldar Munawar, Sepoy Zaka Ullah, Sepoy Farhan and Sepoy Sheraz.

Man accused of sexually assaulting a Pakistani-American doctor gets bail on

KARACHI:A man accused of sexually assaulting a Pakistani-American doctor within the jurisdiction of Karachi’s Frere police station was granted bail on Friday.

A district and sessions court granted bail to Syed Yasir Hussain against a surety bond of Rs100,000. The judge observed the complainant stated in the FIR that she was sexually abused, but in court she said the accused attempted to rape her. Moreover, the accused’s samples didn’t match with those of the woman, he noted.

“In light of evidence available on record, it is a case of further inquiry,” the court ruled. The applicant’s lawyer stated that the FIR was registered after a 41 hours delay. The woman gave contradictory statements before the police and court, he argued, pleading with the court to grant his client bail.

On Nov 16, the Frere police had lodged a first information report (FIR) on the complaint of the lady doctor who stated that the accused took her to his car parked inside his house and raped her on November 15.

PDMA distributes relief goods

QUETTA:PDMA on Friday distributed warm blankets, plastic mats and other warm clothes amongst the attendants of injured of Thursday’s bomb blast in compliance with the directives of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.

According to a statement issued by the PDMA on Friday, following the directions of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, staff of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Balochistan distributed warm blankets, plastic masts and other warm clothes amongst the attendants of injured of yesterday’s bomb blast at Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta.

It is pertinent to mention that Bomb went off the previous day at the main gate of Government Science College, Quetta after the “Shuhada Conference” held under the auspices of Jamiat Tulaba-e-Islam (Nazriyati) in the auditorium of Government Science College, Quetta, resultantly, six persons were killed and 13 others injured.

Partly cloudy weather expected in most parts of country

KARACHI:Met office said on Friday that partly cloudy and cold weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain/snow is expected in north Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan. Frost is likely to occur at few places in Pothohar region during morning hours. Fog is likely to prevail in upper Sindh, plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab during morning/night.

Provision of job opportunities to the youths and utilizing capabilities of youths for national interest the responsibility of government: Governor Balochistan

QUETTA:Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha, Governor Balochistan, has said that provision of job opportunities to the youths and utilizing the capabilities of youths for national interest was the responsibility of the government.

These views were expressed by him while talking to a delegation comprising members of Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) who called on him at Governor’s House here on Friday under the leadership of Abdul Salik Khan, Chairman, BPSC.

Agha said, “Our youths are not deficient of abilities, but what is inevitable is to provide them with opportunities and facilities”. He added that it was the responsibility of Chairman, BPSC and his entire team to play their due role for ensuring transparency so that way could be paved to deliver right to eligible.

Performance of Balochistan Public Service Commission, ensuring merit, methodology prescribed for conducting test and interview and issues relating to future course of action came under discussion during the meeting. At the end, Abdul Salik Khan, Chairman, Balochistan Public Service Commission presented yearly performance report of BPSC to Governor Balochistan.

Pakistan reports six deaths due to covid

KARACHI:Pakistan on Friday reported six deaths due to covid and 515 new cases in the past 24 hours. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,927 so far.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 481,689 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 444,977 in Punjab, 181,370 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 108,618 in Islamabad, 34,660 in Azad Kashmir, 33,633 in Balochistan and 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 23,372,405 coronavirus tests and 47,856 in the last 24 hours. 1,256,337 patients have recovered in the country whereas 633 patients are in critical condition. So far, 96,980,678 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 927,315 in last 24 hours. 70,576,467 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 1,046,013 received their second dose in last 24 hours.
