4 Mobile Patrol Boats added to Balochistan Fisheries and Coastal Development’s Enforcement Fleet

The Balochistan Fisheries and Coastal Development Department on Wednesday formally added four patrol boats to its operational fleet, ending a multi-year delay.

These boats, which were purchased in the fiscal year 2019-20 at a cost of 25 million rupees, remained stalled until the department resolved the matter by providing all required clarifications to the accountability body through continuous legal follow-up.

With the successful resolution of the inquiry, these boats have been formally commissioned to enhance the department’s maritime enforcement capabilities along the province’s coastline.

This expansion of the fleet is expected to significantly boost the campaign against illegal trawling and other unregulated fishing activities, strengthening the protection of Balochistan’s valuable marine resources.

The department considers the final inclusion of these boats a testament to its commitment to transparent practices and the sustainable management of local fisheries.
